Meanwhile, there would be massive collapse,

You don't need a MAGA President to force repatriation of industry, a tariff would do it. An embargo too.

Dear GloBULList, explain how NOT buy imported crap is going to cause a collapse? It will increase savings and investment domestically.

Shipping crisis? You haven’t seen anything yet. Wait until the Evergrande real estate problem completely blows up in China. You won’t even remember the shipping crisis. The problem is huge, simply astronomical. So many people will lost money on that company’s dealings it is going to cause a total lack of confidence in real estate dealings over there. How far the contagion reaches will be interesting to watch. Load up on popcorn.

All caused by COVID plandemic.

Correct!

The “supply chain” is a very complex ‘machine” and for it to work ALL parts have to work. A failure of one part can mess up the entire machine. What we are seeing today is a failure of almost all parts.

These failures can all be traced back to the virus and the way the world governments mis-handled everything.

The real question is was it on purpose or an un-intended consequence of China allowing the virus to escape from their bio-lab?

You mean there are people stupid enough to "invest" money in Chinese real estate? Where every single business or investment outcome is (ultimately) up to the Politburo of the CCP?

A great man once said, "there's a sucker born every minute".

Shortages of imported crap and lack of workers are always part of Socialist economy.
Fixed it.

__________

I respectfully disagree with your fix. There are e.g. shortages of toilet paper. That’s still made in America.
Moreover, a lot of stuff cannot be made in America anymore, because of “environmental concerns”.
Try to build a smelter, mine, chip fab or even a road! The lawyers will persuade you out of your ideas pretty quickly!
Looks like government, software and bitcoin mining is what’s left to make in America.

The government has been manipulating IT wages downward for 30 years. No sympathy from me. Pay up for employers or go out of business. Buck up employers...

Yes, manipulation is the correct term. Employers were livid at how high IT salaries were rising (as they would with something that required unprecedented skills) and reached out to the government to help suppress them. It was strange to sit in presentations by C-suite executives who really wanted something for nothing. They expected genius IT staff at admin wages.

The worst were the ones who believed because that competitors had something, our company could also, but they refused to treat IT infrastructure and staff the way the competition did. It was like dealing with a cargo cult.

I know quite a few individuals who walked away completely and I witness the technical regression daily. The IT folks they're bringing in fail at the basics that were learned more than two decades ago.

Add : containers

caused by a glut in the US some years back when we were importing more than exporting - the empty containers were sold off and made into “tiny homes”.

There are plenty of Longshoremen - their unions prevent them from working round the clock as in other countries ; so if there is a crunch, they cannot unload the ships fast enough, creating a backlog due to their short working hours.

The virus panic just accelerated an already tight supply of workers, mostly, here in the US, due to Union rules.

Add : Workers being paid not to work by the Biden Admin.

I am not a globalist, you unionist idiot! I want jobs and industry in America and think Trump was doing an excellent job in starting to make that happen.

You contradict yourself with brilliance. You DO need a MAGA President, and FedGov support to even get your tariffs. SO YOU’RE NOT GOING TO GET THEM, NOW.

You must really chew grass in the sticks not to have noticed how hard it is to get a car, right now, or how our Resident is running, begging to OPEC, again.

I seem to be unable to get through to you, but if you wait for the shelves to be empty to bring any industry back to America to support its economy, there will be massive economic suffering here. Perhaps I forget that, as a unionist, you only know how to deal out economic suffering to get what you want.
