Several honest leftists have been red-pilled—that is, their eyes have been opened politically—because of the Democrats’ tyrannical moves in 2020/2021, That list includes Glenn Greenwald, Matt Taibbi, Naomi Wolf, Tulsi Gabbard, and Bill Maher. They’re not Republicans, by any means, but their disgust with their party is growing. The most recent addition to this cavalcade of honest leftists may be British comedian Russell Brand, who just discovered the truth about Russiagate.
Brand started as a stand-up comedian and then moved into TV and movie stints in both Britain and America. Many Americans came to know about him because of his two-year-long marriage to Katy Perry, which ended when his self-admitted drug, pornography, and sex addictions came to the fore. (If you read about his early life, you can see how he ended up with those problems.) He’s a relatively bright guy and can be very funny.

For seven years now, Brand has done a one-man video podcast that looks at news and social issues from his self-admitted leftist viewpoint. He’s got almost 4 million subscribers, so he has a bully pulpit for his ideas. The problem for Brand of late is that, while he may be a leftist, in his own way he’s intellectually honest. In the crazy world of 2021, that’s making it difficult for him to maintain a pure leftist attitude. He’s discovering that the people he admired and supported don’t just have feet of clay but are also truly terrible people.

I saw Tulsi the other day on TV and she was OK but still had respect for Joek Byedone. That’s a deal breaker for me.
I always thought that the Russia hoax was implausible, and never heard a shred of reliable evidence against it. Considering that it was Hilary he was running against, I would never have expected anything less.
Russell Brand’s way of talking has always reminded me of Pinky from Pinky & The Brain.
If he’d ever interviewed Orson Welles when Welles was still alive, it would have been a live-action Pinky & The Brain. :P

How stupid, ignorant, and ill informed can someone possibly be? It’s only been known for about 3 years that Hillary paid a British spy to get together with a Russian spy and fabricate evidence that Trump was colluding with foreigners to sway the election. (Think about that for a moment.) Who didn’t know this?

I just had dinner and a couple beers with my nephew last week. He’s a bright guy who has always had a somewhat left of center political orientation……but he’s honest and is not willing to just blindly swallow the propaganda put out by the Democrat party. His beliefs were always of a more populist direction.
Whether talking about the need to stay out of foreign wars, the fact that the Democrat party is no longer the party of the working man - but is instead the party of coastal elites, Karens, radical authoritarian Commies, and a few minorities - or the fact that identity politics/CRT is just class warfare in drag, we see eye to eye.
We both agree that we need to push the RINO establishment out and take over the Republican Party and that we need to build a multi-ethnic coalition of working class Whites, Blacks, Latinos and American patriots. Trump has exactly the right idea about that whether you support the man personally (like me) or you have reservations about him personally (like my nephew).
We ARE picking up some honest liberals (not Leftists) like Alan Dershowitz, like Dave Rubin, like Tim Pool and maybe even Bill Marr. They see that the Wokeratti are the real threat to democracy and to civil liberties not the MAGA supporters who mostly just want to be left alone. The Democrat coalition is fracturing.
Red pills only have a temporary effect on leftists. Once Biden is excreted, most of them will go right back to their original liberal beliefs.
They will need red pill boosters on a regular basis to delay the inevitable backsliding.
