Booster doses are most recommended for adults age 65 and up, who generally don't have the same kind of strong, lasting immune response to vaccines as younger people.
But there's no federal guidance about whether people who've gotten Moderna's or Johnson & Johnson's COVID-19 vaccines might need a boost.
Emerging evidence suggests that people on #TeamModerna may not need a booster as much as others.
Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released data sets from hospitals around the country. That data is starting to indicate that people who got Moderna's vaccine are less likely to be hospitalized than people who got Pfizer's or Johnson & Johnson's....
...One reason Moderna's vaccine may be holding up better in long-term protection is its higher dosage.
Moderna's shot consists of 100 micrograms of mRNA vaccine, while Pfizer's has 30 micrograms. That may mean lighter side effects for Pfizer's shot — but in the long run, the protection might not be as strong....

[From a separate source it's also been said that J&J is good for at least 8 months.]

FLASHBACK:
WASHINGTON — Dr. Anthony Fauci and other top government health officials received their first dose of the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine on Tuesday.
Publicly getting the vaccine “is as a symbol to the rest of the country,” Fauci said. “I feel extreme confidence in the safety and the efficacy of this vaccine and I want to encourage everyone who has the opportunity to get vaccinated so that we could have a veil of protection over this country that would end this pandemic.”
Fauci and the other officials received the Moderna vaccine from the agency’s first shipment of 100 doses.
well number 2 is true, but, they’re a sort of joint researcher in conjunction with the brainiacs at the NIH NIAID and HHS Barda.
annual flu shots could be considered boosters, I guess. But the way I look at boosters, is, last years virus was last years virus and this year is not last year’s virus.
Hopefully tho, this darn thing will burn out in a few months, or the ‘pill form’ of treatment will be ready soon, and we won’t have to worry about any boosters at all
How would we know?
They have been lying about the “science” all along.
Had it. No way in hell am I getting the jab. Stolckhom syndrome much?
I got my second dose of Moderna a year ago as part of the Phase 3 study. No Covid for me yet. They did a blood draw last week and I’m sure they are measuring everything to see if it’s lost effectiveness. No third shot yet.
.
Will they and have they been sharing results of your blood draws?
The 8 months bit is because that has been the time past to date. It could actually be MUCH longer....
I'd be interested in hearing whether Moderna is still working a full year later.
I got Moderna. I have a sister who is in terrible health get the vaccine and had no issues. So I took it, and I did not have issues with it either.
