The two who died - at 38 and 79 years old - had Covid-19 and had taken ivermectin instead of proven treatments like monoclonal antibodies, said Dr. David R. Scrase, the acting head of the state health department. He said the drug had contributed to both deaths, causing kidney failure in one of the patients.
Dr. Scrase said in an interview on Saturday that using ivermectin to treat Covid was like taking an antacid for a heart attack. “It’s the wrong medicine for something really serious,” he said.
Dr. Susan Smolinske, the director of the New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center, said that about half of the reported cases of ivermectin poisoning this year were people who took the drug to prevent Covid.
While certain versions of ivermectin are prescribed to treat head lice and other parasites in people, other formulations - which come in forms such as liquid and paste - are commonly used in the equine and livestock industries to combat worms and parasites.
In past years, Dr. Smolinske said, many of the incidents in New Mexico involved children mistakenly taking chewable tablets intended for dogs, but recently the poison centers had seen more instances of people taking concentrated forms of the drug intended for large animals.
“Most of our cases are of the horse or dewormer or pour-on product, so they’re highly concentrated compared to those tablets for dogs,” said Dr. Susan Smolinske, the director of the New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center.
Dr. Smolinske said misuse of the drug can cause drowsiness, dizziness, tremors or even a coma. “It gets into the brain, and if you take a high enough dose, it has difficulty getting out of the brain,” she said.

Two cases might be worth looking into. Ok, one was 89 years old. That leaves one, which is entirely anecdotal and not evidence in any scientific sense.

-Sorry full of gas_dr, that monoclonal treatment is hard to access, and hard to get. First, when hours matter, it takes days to get a positive test result. Then you get in line blah blah blah.... Ivermectin most definitely works, it stops the virus quite quickly. The minute you start getting sick, start dosing. It will potentially save your life, unlike when I had Covid. They gave me nothing but the lung exerciser thing and I pried a prescription for antibiotics out of their hands. 9 hours in the E room, they did not provide me with fluids to drink. They put an IV line in, and never set up drip.
Go home and and come back if you turn blue, is a real thing.
The big lie that Ivermectin doesn’t work on Covid 19 is responsible for a truly staggering number of deaths world-wide.
I’d call it the scandal of the year.
It is actually mass murder.
Current practice for the overwhelming majority of people in the USA is to do NOTHING for symptomatic cases until you meet the criteria for hospitalization. A significant percentage of these people could avoid hospitalization or have a less severe illness through ordinary treatments we know about. Ivermectin among them. Vitamin D, C, zinc, NAC, melatonin, aspirin, an ordinary chlorhexidine otc mouthwash. Though it might be controversial, some doctors might consider Azithromycin or Doxycycline in early cases as well. No, there are no guarantees but there is significant evidence for all of these.
It is totally dishonest argumentation to pretend that using ivermectin precludes the use of other Covid medicines.
This isn’t close to true.
It is also dishonest to imply that one cannot use monoclonal antibodies if one has taken ivermectin. There is no contraindication. It isn’t true. At all.
Yes, it would be great if more people got monoclonal antibodies early in hospitalization. Guess what, most of the world does not have access to these. And even in the US, Biden is now actively rationing these in the name of ‘equity’ so people who should get them cannot.
The USA government agencies scream that there is “no evidence” for ivermectin. They have arranged for a single study that will complete in .... 2023.
The big problem with ivermectin is that it is dirt cheap. It reduces profits and kickbacks from our vaccine industrial complex. Anyone remember Eisenhower’s speech about the military industrial complex, how it was an unstoppable behemoth?

In this case — this is exactly what many of us have seen. Ivermectin does not work for CoVID 19.

Son in law had 103 fever, tight breathing, rapid tested positive. I gave my daughter 2 12mg doses of pill ivm to give him from a mexican pharmacy. His breathing eased after 2 hours from a 12mg dose, 3 days later second dose and after 5 days went back to work. Something worked, can't prove it was ivm, but something worked.
Well, there you have it.
