Get rid of them all. You will need one of the ones you chucked.

This is EXACTLY what happened to me. I tossed a box literally 6 feet tall X 3 square full of old cables and junk.

The next week I needed a USB-3 cable for an HDD. I also needed a power pack that I was 100% sure I tried on every DC powered device I had.

But OTOH my “office” was starting to look like the opening sequence of the show “Hoarders.”

The problem isn’t just the cables, though. It’s that difference devices have different amperage/wattage requirements, so you need different base units for different devices. There is some overlap, but it is far from complete.

As green energy rooftop solar systems begin to fail we will face the same problem ..... not made to have standard interchangeable parts.

Oh, and about that roof leak .... good luck working on a roof that’s an electrical generator.

European Economic Union demands all mobile devices have the same charging/data cables… the antique and limited mini-USB cable used on Android phones/tablets… and freeze all future cables there. Their rationale is to limit the amount of e-waste going into landfills.—PING!
