I don't know why, but this movie has stuck in my mind since I was a kid. It scared the hell out of me(I watched it alone, my mother(God Bless her soul) was on the phone, just like a year later when I watched, "The Omega Man" by myself on NBC.

"The Omega Man" prediction seems to be coming true.

First horror movie I watched as a little kid was The Ghost And Mr. Chicken. Scared the scat out of me.

I remember seeing this on TV one time. Never saw it since. Russell Johnson (the Professor from Gilligans Island) also appears in it. Lots of recognizable actors from TV.

One odd thing is how many of the actors and actresses from it (which I have not seen yet) are still alive. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Horror_at_37,000_Feet

Atta boy, Luther!

From IMBD:

According to Don Knotts's autobiography, the off-screen voice yelling, "Attaboy, Luther!" belongs to screenwriter Everett Greenbaum.

This film inspired a short-lived craze for yelling out "Attaboy, (name)" during speeches and other situations. This came from a running gag used in this film.

I used to watch this movie and The Reluctant Astronaut a lot as a kid. Throw in Limpet, too.

In the 50’s, we used to go to the local theater every weekend. They changed movies every Sunday, so we’d go both days. Our mother gave us each a quarter. It cost 15 cents to get in, and we had a dime for a box of popcorn. I remember seeing plenty of horror movies at that theater. “Them,” “Tarantula,” “The Deadly Mantis,” “The Thing,” “Creature From the Black Lagoon,” “Revenge of the Creature,” The Creature Walks Among Us,” “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” “Invaders From Mars,” “It Conquered the World,” “Tingler,” “House on Haunted Hill,” and a whole bunch more. My favorite movie from 1963 was “The Haunting” with Julie Harris, and Claire Bloom. Even though you never saw a ghost, the scenes and sound effects were very scary. I’m 74, and horror movies are still my favorite.

I didn’t realize Will Hutchins was in this movie, or that he was still alive. I remember watching him in the western series “Sugarfoot.”

I like your taste in movies.

I remember The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (?), and The Picture of Dorian Gray. (?). I saw these so long ago that I can’t really be sure of the names.

Also, An Affair to Remember. Not horror but great. :)

Ghost and Chicken was a classic but the first movie to scare me was The Vulture.

There's a thing called "The Internets" (V.P. Al Gore invented them) that could help you in your quest.

I refer you specifically to the Internet Movie Database (IMDb).

The Fly…around 1958 scared the hell out of me. I checked under the bed every night for probably a month.

Vincent Price is still the #1 creepster. I doubt if anyone will ever come along to take his title.
