NORTH PORT, Fla. — Police on Friday visited the home of Brian Laundrie, boyfriend of missing woman Gabby Petito, who has been deemed a person of interest in the case and who has up to now refused to speak with authorities about her disappearance.

Witness Jonathan Riches 42, told The Post he saw police officers arrive in an unmarked black van around 6:20 p.m.

One officer in full uniform walked in and didn’t have to knock and Laundrie’s parents there waiting and let him in, according to Riches. A few other officers followed.

A uniformed officer at one point exited the house and went to his vehicle, returning with what appeared to be a paper evidence bag.

The North Port Police department later put out a tweet saying there were not there to talk to Brian.

“North Port Police are currently speaking with the Laundrie Family at their request. At this time, we are not speaking with Brian. More details when available,” they wrote.

and who has up to now refused to speak with authorities about her disappearance.

My gut says the boyfriend is probably guilty but I'm not going to fault him for clamming up and getting a lawyer as my opinion of cops these days certainly isn't what it used to be.

Sounds like Brian’s parents had enough.

Smart for the girl’s parents to put pressure on them the last couple of days.

[Police] are talking with the family at the family's request. They are not talking to Brian.

Maybe the family only wanted to talk to police about the crowd outside their house.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa...

Was this woman wearing a mask and social distancing? Didn't she know that traveling about the country like a free-spirited hippie in the 1960s was strictly verboten by Saint Fauci?

LOL!
Are we entering an era of flash mob violence where street justice breaks out here and there?

Laundrie is washed up. He’ll come clean. The police will press him for the truth, then hang him out to dry.

Nothing to worry about. If he didn’t kill the babe, he’ll be cleared.

The conversation at the Laundrie home is complete. Once we have the details, a statement will be made. We ask for calm! Please let us work through this and information will be forthcoming.

It could be that Laundrie is struggling with a possible life behind bars, and took off to explore his options.

I'm sure it made sense for his lawyer to tell him to be quiet, but there should have been some negotiations going on. The idea that he could just wait it out was a fantasy.

If he truly killed her, his best option was to turn himself in immediately and try to plea to a manslaughter or lesser charge of murder. He has earned no mitigation points, and has ramped this into a national story. I have to say the lawyer is partly to blame.

On the other hand, if he's innocent, the legal advice has made him look guilty and created this unbearable public pressure. Again, really bad advice.
