Tell Me About Your Ride
Yesterday, I inadvertantly hijacked a Bible Thread in the Religion Forum to talk about my Motorcycle. Since I started riding in late Autumn of 1972, next year will mark my 50th Anniversary on two wheels. At the time, women were not as avid bikers as they are today. My Present Bike is pictured above, and is a 93FXR in "Sapphire Blue". I bought it at Hampton Roads Harley Davidson on the way home from attending Rolling Thunder. I traded in my Sportster and did the 700 mile ride home on that beautiful bike. From the VIN, we have ascertained that she was born in the York, PA Plant sometime in June 1992, so next year, "Blue" will be thirty. Blue and I have done 8 Rolling Thunder Rallies together, one Daytona, Blue Ridge Parkway, The Colonial Triangle, Laconia and the Kangamangus Highway, Alligator Alley and Florida's Gulf Coast, The Florida Keys, I95 the whole way, and the Appalachians in West Virginia (Monongahela State Forest and Blackwater Falls). We have gone through Hurricanes, Tornadoes, and Flash Floods together. I'm posting this thread so we can share our stories without having to hijack a Bible Thread LOL!
Let Me hear From You.

I took a spin on a Royal Enfield one. Can only compare it to a tractor. Only the shifting, clutching and braking took getting used to. That was a different animal.

Wow. Kewl thread . . .
My favorite ride is my ‘05 Ultra Classic.

Sold my Ducati Monster after an epiphany that it would one day leave me at the top of a tree with both boots blown off. Had several years of quality time with a Honda S2000. When I quit my day job and started working at a local sporting clays range I sold it and got a Honda Pioneer 500 which on 480 acres is a hoot.

Don’t give up. Some of these older bikes get real good money today and they’re a lot of fun to ride. The Triumph at #63 I’ve been working on for nearly a year. And in about another week it’ll be ready for first start with a new top end.

My first two bikes were kickers. After that, electric starters all the way.
But that kicker could sure come in handy at times.

Thanks for that!
I remember “adjusting the mix”(air & fuel) when I attempted to fly a helicopter (my gift to myself on my 55th B-Day). It’s a lot more complicated than just gassing up.

Well, “Blue” is a Unisex name. In fact, my pastor at the biker Church where I was Music minister (in Florida) was nick-named “Blue” (RIP). My bike is named “Blue”, and since i am female, so is she. We are like best girlfriends, or, maybe, sisters.
Two of our deacons were named “Spider” and “Gonzo”. We were an unusual church, but solid Evangelicals, Theology-wise.

If I had money and a garage, I would collect those Brid Bikes. I love ‘em.
