Tell Me About Your Ride
Yesterday, I inadvertantly hijacked a Bible Thread in the Religion Forum to talk about my Motorcycle. Since I started riding in late Autumn of 1972, next year will mark my 50th Anniversary on two wheels. At the time, women were not as avid bikers as they are today. My Present Bike is pictured above, and is a 93FXR in "Sapphire Blue". I bought it at Hampton Roads Harley Davidson on the way home from attending Rolling Thunder. I traded in my Sportster and did the 700 mile ride home on that beautiful bike. From the VIN, we have ascertained that she was born in the York, PA Plant sometime in June 1992, so next year, "Blue" will be thirty. Blue and I have done 8 Rolling Thunder Rallies together, one Daytona, Blue Ridge Parkway, The Colonial Triangle, Laconia and the Kangamangus Highway, Alligator Alley and Florida's Gulf Coast, The Florida Keys, I95 the whole way, and the Appalachians in West Virginia (Monongahela State Forest and Blackwater Falls). We have gone through Hurricanes, Tornadoes, and Flash Floods together. I'm posting this thread so we can share our stories without having to hijack a Bible Thread LOL!
Let Me hear From You.

That sounds beautiful. We have Cruise Night every Wednesday at the local Shaw’s market. Cameros are particularly loved and prized.

Doing OK, weak still but my brain still functions, thank God
I’ll probably never get back to where I was.
I’m 65 now so pretty much retired.

And this was an 80, not a 45 flathead. I could get it up to 80 mph and it seemed the engine was barely turning over. Kicking it could be brutal at times.

Yes
Back then you mixed two cycle oil like a chain saw into the gas tank
Too rich and it would smoke
Extremely quick
I’ve got a KTM 85 dirt bike two stroke .for my kids ...it’ll run circles around a 175 four stroke....up to around 65-70 mph
Tear it up and almost run with a 250 in quickness
I love two strokes
Same with old go fast boat outboards

I have a 79 yamaha 750. I hadn't started it in 3 years so I've been tinkering with it for a couple weeks.
Finally got it started on Monday.
It ran 5 seconds, backfired and started the carbs on fire!!!
I got it extinguished, but not before attracting a crowd. They clapped.
Damage actually wasn't too bad.
Oh well, maybe next year.

I have never ridden a Yamaha, but my piano was made by the same company. Nice Instrument. My stereo amp is a Yamaha, does that count?
