Ridgewood High School, NJ: Substitutes and students in classrooms while teachers teach via video remotely
Parent at school | 13 September 2021 | Self

I got a call from a friend in Ridgewood, New Jersey, who said that Ridgewood High School teachers will be providing classroom instruction from home via video while substitute teachers monitor the class with the students present. It is claimed by the school that teachers are too valuable to be in the classroom and exposed to covid, so they are hiring substitute teachers to be in the classrooms to monitor the students. The students must be present in the classroom while wearing masks all day.

It seems substitute teachers must be expendable since they can be in the classroom, and the students must be expendable too.

The worst of both worlds: twice the cost, half the learning.

This is the true legacy of JFK. He allowed government workers to unionize and now they have enormous taxpayer funded political and cultural power. There are no elected officials in New Jersey that have the courage to confront the teacher’s union.

Abolish public schools forever.

The Internet has made them totally obsolete.

Momentum is all that is keeping the obsolete institutions alive....

Not even surprised that the socialist ruling party would do this.

Understandable, as it’s a public school, so they DO NOT want parents having access to what’s being ‘taught’.

Seems like a reasonable way to accomplish that.

Ditto to everyone commenting. What a absolute disgrace and insane. The unions are thugs and cowards. UNMASK THE CHILDREN! Fire the teachers who won’t come in! (I know wishful.)

Right now there is a free program- all the way to 12th grade, advertising on tv. Im sure it’s one of many.

Good, let it all come down.

The YMCA here took it upon themselves to offer tutors and classrooms for virtual learning. They were using churches, community centers, museums, anything that could act as a temporary classroom.

Of course this has nothing to do with preventing the spread of the virus because the students could catch it as could the YMCA employees.

I did catch a glimpse at what one kid was studying—it was some math game from the site:

https://teachers-teach-teachers.com/

In other words it was just downloaded and posted on the class website for kids to do.

There are no elected officials in New Jersey that have the courage to confront the teacher’s union.

That last person to take them on was Chris Christie ... and he won!

The teachers are expendable too, but their unions are not, to the Democrat Party of criminals. As always, follow the money to find the truth.

Parents want taxpayer-funded babysitting and the teachers want to be safe.

The teachers will know it's safe enough to go back to the classroom when there no mask mandates, no social distancing requirements, and no group size limitations.
