Has anyone gotten relief ?
How ?
Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH).
>> the Mustard clinic says
“Hold the Mayo, and give me Ham on 5”
Are you not aware that all the smart FReepers are taking quercetin as a zinc ionophore for covid mitigation?
>> IMO, tinnitus is the ear hearing one’s own NERVE TRAFFIC
The psychoacoustics caused by the damaged receptors — the ringing represents the physically inaudible frequencies.
I just ignore it. Until someone brings it up....
Too many answers to read so I don’t know if anyone mentioned this, but mine gets worse when I take NSAIDs.
12 years
Caffeine will bring mine on. Hearing aids have not helped. Wife still doesn’t understand. Hard on a spouse as well.
Can make you crazy, sometimes alprazolam helps Cbd made mine worse. Also, too much whiskey. Sip it, don’t guzzle.
Aspirin in large doses is likely what gave me mine. (Had to take for @6 months)
Mine started at age 5 or 6. It would come and go. Usually when laying in bed waiting to fall asleep. Now more than 70 years later, I have the 10KHz tone all the time. I try to ignore it and that helps. Nothing has ever worked. Maybe someday a cure will be found.
Did you spend much of your youth driving around with the window down?
53 years for myself. Top of the line hearing aids havent changed anything. Been so long it’s just a part of life now.
My ex-father-in-law told me if you drop olive oil into your ear it will help. Then I got my own case of tinnitus... and after a period of time realized how full of s*** that old sob really was
LOL! I. Did. Not. Know. That.
(Haven’t seen that commercial on a while.)
“mine gets worse when I take NSAIDs.”
Just a few up-thread from you someone mentioned that ibuprofen makes it worse - an NSAID.
Nobody has mentioned accupincture as a possibility. I have never done it for any reason, but have friends who get relief from other issues that way. My cousin’s husband had horrible chronic hiccups for a few years, and acupuncture was the only thing that stopped them. When he noticed them returning after several months, another acupuncture.
Yep. I have a symphony of varying frequencies constantly.
Pretty accurate description. Mine is interesting from the standpoint of being accused at 25 or so of cheating on a hearing test. I was hearing high pitched sounds not a part of the test. Those sounds were not constant and only heard when in a sound proof quiet room designed for hearing tests.
Much later comes the symphony after many years of piloting with one ear of two uncovered by headset for cockpit conversation. When you occupy both seats in a conventional cockpit, you impact both ears.
I did have an experience where it noticeably disappeared recently when I began taking D3, but it didn’t last long. It does not appear to get worse just constant when it is quiet. Outside noise helps to blank it. Wife wonders why I need the radio on constantly.
such as age-related hearing loss
Don’t envy the solution to that one.
I started zinc a month ago
It took 118 replies before ....
“There are “crystals” in your ear that help you keep your balance and keep the room from spinning. They can get knocked out of place. “
Yep... Called BPPV, I was thinking the same thing about several of the replies here. I have had this happen many times and gives me vertigo and temporary tinnitus. There are self help exercises that can help, and seasickness medicine can help.
