Prescription drugs are one of the largest businesses in the USA. “Legalized” drugs are right up there also. Illegal drugs are also right up there. Follow the money.
This Covid 19 thing convinces me there is something to this. Daily convicting news reports make scrambled eggs out of the news. You cannot tell from the reports what the hell is really going on. This can happen only when there is collusion from the government and the pharmacutical companies to not give a straight answer on what is really happening.
My wonderful MD is from Nigeria. Went to med school there where schools are NOT funded by Big Pharma. Best doc ever! Prescribes 10 nutritional supplements for me every day. All the things that support the immune system. I’ve taken them every morning for the last 50 years, well before I met him.
All docs can prescribe them if WebMD says they have value. But they won’t. I am incredibly lucky to have this great guy as. my doc. He says I’ll easily live to be 100, I’m so healthy. Did not in any way tell me to take vax.
Industry always tries to push its stuff by inveigling its way into the orgs that can fund it with taxpayer $$. Military has always needed watching on this. But, at least with much military stuff there is some semblance of a competitive bid process and if something crappy gets thru some soldier can scream about it.
Med is different when Guv’mt thinks it can mandate stuff. Not for a specialized group, but for citizens at large. That is corruption of an entirely different order. Geesh, that links back to old scares of fluoridated water stuff.
Getting the Government to mandate your product/service is a business model they teach in business schools. Solyndra, Tesla, ethanol fuel, carbon credits, you name it. Big Pharma is just one of a dozen industries that use the model.

Good piece. Before covid, I stood up for big pharma against the anti-drug-makers crowd.
Boy, was I wrong. Biggest scam going. Hundreds of billions buys a lot of corruption. I saw we recently learned of several new billionaires, all pharma upper management.
So much corruption in America now.
