PENSACOLA, Fla. -- The death of 15-year-old Victoria Ramirez raises questions about COVID safety in schools.
There is no way to tell whether Victoria Ramirez contracted the virus at Booker T. Washington High School.
Channel 3 spoke to parents in front of Booker T. Washington High School Wednesday afternoon seen picking up their children.
On their minds was the death of 15-year-old student Victoria Ramirez who died from COVID-19.
One parent told us that she feels the school is overpopulated.
As of Wednesday, 388 students in the last 14 days have tested positive in Escambia County schools. 986 students are in quarantine.
66 teachers have also tested positive in the last 14 days and nine are in quarantine.
Channel 3 spoke with Escambia County School Superintendent Dr. Tim Smith Wednesday.
Smith says principals and assistant principals are working beyond everything possible.
The district has made some recent changes including restricting school volunteers and has done way with large assemblies.
The district is asking students to wear masks, wash hands, and social distance if possible.
The district does agree with social distancing being difficult within schools.
Last year the Escambia County School District required masks to be worn. This year it's optional and the COVID numbers according to the superintendent, are still high.
Channel 3 spoke with David Elzback who says he's concerned about the spread of COVID in schools.
Elzback is the union president for bus drivers, secretaries, and others.
Elzback is in favor of bringing back the mask mandate.
"I wish we could do more more but the governor has tied our hands on that," Elzback said.
Channel 3 asked Teacher Union President Darzell Warren if Escambia County schools were safe for students and teachers.
Warren's concerns revolve around vaccinations.
"It's as safe as it can possibly be. I do have some concerns our younger students who are under 12 are not able to be vaccinated our students who are old get to choose," Warren said.
In perspective, 96 percent of the students in Escambia County remain unaffected by COVID-19.

Borderline cases like hers are going to be used to push for universal vaccination of kids under 18.

Which leads back to the original problem. China is not being punished for this, and there isn’t anything to prevent them or WHO or Fauci from developing an even more deadly biological weapon.
No worries, a few more stories like this and the RINOS will fold like a cheap lawn chair.
If only she had wore a mask..she might have possibly lived but probably she would have still died.

No mention they gave her treatment after diagnosis. Sent her home after giving fluids? No momoclonal antibodies? Looks like they let her get worse and then tried to give her treatment.

I feel like somethings being left out of this story..
While tragic, it wouldn’t surprise me if underlying health issues prior to Covid.
Looks like they didn’t begin any kind of treatment until after she had developed COVID pneumonia.
I won’t print the rest of what I’m thinking.
