Maybe a topic of interest for your gun ping list?
Bullpup was just a Fad
Always wanted one, but the price tag was too high.
Seemed like a good social work gun. Maybe the price will drop now.
Gas impingement still works. Keep it clean and no moving parts b
The Tavor is heavier and more expensive than the M4 series. Israel already has M4 production lines, so its probably a simple decision for them. Note the Tavor is not actually vanishing; it will remain in service but as they wear down or require replacements, the new weapons will be M4s. I would assume that will be done at a unit level, not for individual troops, but I believe the Tavor uses STANAG magazines so intermixing might be possible.
Bullpups and Lefties do not work well together. LOL
For my whole shooting life I trained mag swap……..no way I could ever use a Bullpup.
It seems to be a death knell whenever a gun is labeled “futuristic”. I used to buy retail military equipment magazines, that were almost nothing but glossy advertisements for hundreds of ‘upcoming’ weapons systems, and learned two important things:
1) Their marketing is that of used car salesmen with huge advertising budgets. Most of what they offered had no life beyond a prototype.
2) Low maintenance, durability, and reliability matter more than endless bells and whistles. This is why the 1911A1 and M2 .50 cal are still around today.

shoulda kept the Galil
a lot of US surplus no longer needed to supply American forces is going to hit the secondary market. The defense contractors are going to need business while they await the next endless war.
I didn’t realize the Tavor had such a large footprint. The M4 looks lighter, perhaps increasing mobility.
From what I’ve seen from guntubers they were problematic and subject to failure.

That’s why it’s best to have an AR15 to go along with your AK bullpup.
Don’t ask how I came to acquire that information.
+1 for All bullpups have bad triggers.
Hmmm, interesting.
It's better than the M4 at just about every metric save one.
A light weight, M4 carbine is hands down the best handling, most accurate and best pointing people shooter in the biz.
Nothing else comes close.
Not the beloved FN FAL, the FN SCAR, the Sig 551/553, the Steyr AUG, the AK 47/74, the Bren 2, the FNC or any of the other similar options. A Valmet M76 comes pretty close but it's too old school to get the job done
And that is a fact.
A modern. scienced out, well developed and squared away M4 is the point and click interface of death at a price point that simply can't be beat
Then again, maybe just a false alarm.

So now Israel has had its dalliances with the FN-FAL, the AK-47/Galil, and a bullpup of its own creation and has come back to Eugene Stoner.
It bears mention that the M-4 carbine (and its variants, such as the HK-416) remains the most popular ‘standard issue’ firearm with special operations units all over the world, including those serving in countries whose standard infantry rifle is a bullpup (most notably, Israel, formerly great Britain, and the cheese-eating surrender monkeys). So 10 out of 10 snake eaters agree, bullpups suck.
All of which goes back to the point that everybody wants an AR, even if they don’t realize it.
