With Georgia set to host its first home game against UAB at Sanford Stadium on Saturday, coach Kirby Smart said three or four of his players are sidelined with COVID-19.
Smart declined to identify the players during a teleconference with reporters on Monday. It is unknown whether they will be available to play against the Blazers on Saturday (3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2).
"I'll be honest with you, I'm as concerned as I've ever been, because we have three or four guys out with COVID and we have a couple staff members that have been out with COVID here recently," Smart said. "For us, we're at our highest spike. And people are talking about vaccinations, well these are people that are vaccinated. We're talking about breakthroughs, and so that concerns you not only for the players on your team that are unvaccinated, that are playing and not playing, because we want everybody to be safe. But it concerns me for the players that are vaccinated that we could lose them."

Perhaps it is the vaccine that has made them more susceptible
btw, Joker doing his usual thing. I just wait for these opportunities and hammer them.
Of course he will win. But he lost the first set. He might not even need his bathroom break.
He comes in around the one hour and ten minute mark of this bitchute video (and runs for about 45 more minutes).
Not “despite being vaccinated.”
Because they are vaccinated
Exactly!
OK, all together now... IT’S NOT A VACCINE!!!
Good game against Clemson Kirby.
That aside the Vax caused your problem.
Whatever.
The fauxine IS the virus.
Georgia State got whupped by Army on Saturday. 3 of their top players were on covid protocols.
Maybe they want to stop the spread. That may not be a bad idea.
I’m assuming “out” means 14 day quarantine.
Exactly. The jabbed can get it and have no symptoms, but many places don’t require routine testing of them. Can’t have it both ways.
By most accounts, well over 120 million more have already recovered from the virus. Since there is bound to be overlap, we can guess that at least 2/3 (probably more like 3/4) of the population has either had it or are vaccinated or both.
ANY other vaccine or drug would have been pulled off the market a month after it was introduced.
Even the unvaccinated can have covid with no symptoms. Last year a nearby minimum security prison had over 2/3 of the population test positive for covid, most with no symptoms at all. A few did die, but they were generally over 65 with other health problems.
The coach should have known that vaccines do not and cannot prevent infection. Vaccines do not build a valve inside nose which will stop covid virus from floating in.
Only function of vaccines is to better prepare the body with additional tools when the virus invades and infects.
Kirby, are you trying to make Clemson feel even worse? If my alma mater’s team could play defense like Georgia did, I wouldn’t care if the whole team was infected.
Do any of them feel under the weather?
Are they dead? Hospitalized?
“ Maybe they want to stop the spread. That may not be a bad idea.”
******************************************************
They are NOT going to STOP the spread. The best they can hope for is to stretch the spread out over a longer time period. The spread is going to continue as long as the virus has susceptible individuals within reach. It would be better, IMHO, to get it over now.
LET IT RIP!
Yes, and fairly elected ((eyeroll))
