26-year old son taken to ER with Covid - please pray for him. Healthy, fit conservative Christian. Got Covid last Saturday and confirmed on Monday. He lives nearby and he said he was doing okay.
Checked in on him mid-week with some food and talked with him through the window and said he was about the same. He tried to take the ivermectin and other vitamins that I gave him on Saturday but he couldn't keep them down. Dropped by this morning with some more stuff and said he was a little worse but he would be okay. I asked him if he wanted to come home with us so we could take care of him and he said "maybe later this week if I don't get better".
His girlfriend (recovered quickly from the same bout of Covid) went over later and into his apartment and said his lips were blue. My wife ran over with an oxygen meter and it said 78%!! Hopefully it was wrong, but I don't know. They took him to the ER and he walked in. They started giving him oxygen and now waiting on xrays. I'm heading down there shortly.
Anyway - very scary. But we know that he loves the Lord so that is a real help. But please pray for his strength and the wisdom of his doctors and our son and us as we may need to make decisions that will be difficult.
20 mg melatonin (chewable from Costco) and 500 mg flush niacin (avoid non-flush or slow release). 3 to 5 times daily. Avoid remdesivir. It destroys kidneys.

Trying to give vitamins when nausea hits is very difficult. Also needs rehydration.
Tonic water, allowed to go flat, with 1T-2T of vinegar (white or ACV) and/or lime juice per liter, will help alleviate the nausea and rehydrate. Can crush vit c and 1 zinc tablet into powder and mix into the tonic water. Sip slowly through straw, only allowing a small amount at a time until stomache settles. Even holding it in the mouth for a bit and then spitting out into another glass, over and over, will get some into patient, eventually settling stomache.
Ask how this is all known . . . very effective, does require someone to sit by and be nurse for several hours at a time . . .

Thank you all for your prayers and suggestions. I know that we have a Good God and a God that Loves us. But sometimes I need a reminder of that from fellow believers and the scriptures. Thank you for the uplifting of my spirits and prayers for my son. His name is Cody. Named after Wild Bill Cody. Sports a flowing mane of wavy hair and a beard like his namesake. He has spent the last 4 years as a leader in ministry with youth at a local church. He has a real love for the kids and engaging with them about what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.
The communication with him in the ER is difficult so we will need to figure that out so we can discuss directly to the doctor. My son when texting isn’t the clearest or most detailed.
“I’m ok. Doc says I need to spend a couple days. Love you too.”
Half hour later “Lungs have inflammation, they are giving me steroids.”
An hour later:
“Gonna be in the icu for a week”.
I texted him back to make sure he has a good long talk with the docs and with us if they want to put him on a ventilator. I told him about Regeneron (might be too late) HCQ and Ivermectin. Those were the things I could recall off the top of my head.
“Ok. Thanks Dad, I love you too.”
Lots of regrets that I didn’t push harder on the I-mask protocols ahead of time. Regrets that I didn’t go into his apartment earlier in the week and look at him, talk with him in detail about what was going on and could have caught it before he got so bad. And of course have second thoughts on that he should have gotten the vaccine. But all of us in our family came to the no vaccine decision on our own.
But - no time to think of regrets right now. I’m just trying to stay positive in the strength of our God, the strength in my son, and that God would guide the doctors in their care of him.
Again, thank you all for your prayers of healing and strength. Give me the strength to continue to pray the following:
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Since your wife is not vaxxed consider looking into infusion right now if she was in the car with him. Clock is ticking.
You tell them she was exposed to a covid person who has quickly gone down hill by the sound of his change in hospital stay.
The earlier you get this treatment the better and you have to spend time jumping through hoops.
I wear it on my left index finger, not on my thumb.
It also records your motion during sleep — an indication you are moving in your sleep to get more air.
Lastly, the OSCAR program that you load your CPAP data into also loads the O2Ring data so you see all of that data in one place.

I've been asked to work in a Sleep Lab...but hate working nights!!
I'm also a CPFT..Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist. But it's way boring...Interesting but boring.
The most fun and rewarding work was when I worked in a NICU....Why? Well these little one's are usually just too early...and they get better.
I work in a Swing Bed rural Hosp these days...now and then.

Prayers for your son and your family, 21twelve. I have a 25 year old... they never stop being your baby. Keep in your mind that he is YOUNG, HEALTHY, young organs and healing systems... please keep us in the loop if you can.
HEAVENLY FATHER, We ask you today to heal our 21twelve’s son. Heal his body, Lord. Please give insight to his medical providers. Encircle his family with Your love and Grace... comfort them, dear Lord, during this most stressful and frightening time. Amen.

If your son gives permission, you should be able to converse with his doc.

From what I read in his post, his wife talked to their son thru the glass window of her car. She wasn’t IN the car with him, so no need for her to start treatment.
What I read was ambiguous. She took him to the hospital...but she could have been in a different car.
And if you noticed..he is young and healthy.
People walk around with no idea they have co morbidity issues until something is found on an incidental imaging scan, or blood work, or something triggers it.
