26-year old son taken to ER with Covid - please pray for him. Healthy, fit conservative Christian. Got Covid last Saturday and confirmed on Monday. He lives nearby and he said he was doing okay.
Checked in on him mid-week with some food and talked with him through the window and said he was about the same. He tried to take the ivermectin and other vitamins that I gave him on Saturday but he couldn't keep them down. Dropped by this morning with some more stuff and said he was a little worse but he would be okay. I asked him if he wanted to come home with us so we could take care of him and he said "maybe later this week if I don't get better".
His girlfriend (recovered quickly from the same bout of Covid) went over later and into his apartment and said his lips were blue. My wife ran over with an oxygen meter and it said 78%!! Hopefully it was wrong, but I don't know. They took him to the ER and he walked in. They started giving him oxygen and now waiting on xrays. I'm heading down there shortly.
Anyway - very scary. But we know that he loves the Lord so that is a real help. But please pray for his strength and the wisdom of his doctors and our son and us as we may need to make decisions that will be difficult.
What a scary time for you. Prayers for Cody for complete recovery and for you, his worried parents, for peace and strength as Cody recovers.
Yes! Amen!
I will be praying for your son and your family.
Great news! Continued prayers for Cody’s complete healing 🙏
So glad to hear!
Praise Jesus!
And continued healing! And you all stay healthy!
“But, I just wanted to call so you knew my name. I don’t want the first time you hear of me to be if I tell you we will be putting him on a ventilator.”
WOW...sometimes I think they put too many people on vents too quickly...thank goodness he didnt have to go that route.
Will do!
Praise Jesus!
I’ve been praying for Cody since this thread was started, and checking on it throughout the day for updates.
The Mama in me has been fretting. The Believer in me has been thanking God for His perfect plan in your son’s life.
Thanks for the great news!
Thank you for the great update!
Continuing prayers for Cody.

Thanks for the update. Continued prayers for Cody’s speedy recovery !
Thanks for the update and praise Jesus for the great news on Cody’s health. Staying in prayer for his continued healing!
Hi Rummy Chick. Was going to wait until Cody is out of the ICU, but he is continuing to improve. They keep lowering his oxygen and hope to get him out of the ICU tomorrow and into a regular hospital bed through the weekend, and maybe home early next week. He is still confined to his bed but can sit up in bed.
Yesterday morning they discovered a small blood clot in his leg but the doctor wasn’t too concerned about it. He said it is very common with Covid patients. They put Cody on blood thinners which helps stabilize the clot I guess.
They specifically asked him about what pains he is having, “any pains in your legs...” to clue in on any clots so that was good. I’m guessing if they didn’t ask those specific questions he would never have brought it up, thinking that it just hurt because he had been in bed for so long.
Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers!
I suspect you are right about him not mentioning the pain in legs.
Thankfully the Dr asked him about it
Continued good news update on my son Cody at post 154. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. He texted saying he didn’t like the nurse he had yesterday. Not sure why, but he finally complained about her and they assigned someone else to him! “Got a new nurse she’s great!”
That is great news! Thanks for sharing with us.
When I was about your son’s age, I got Hepatitis A while working in Mexico (I wasn’t watching what I was eating or drinking closely enough). I spent about two weeks in isolation and had the greatest, really cute nurse ever. We dated for a couple years after that!
I just saw this thread. Adding my prayers for Cody’s rapid and full recovery.
Great news friend. God is faithful. Remember, He gives more than we ask for. He knows our needs. I pray the healing process proceeds and full recovery is quickened. I also pray His Testimony shines His light throughout the ICU. God Bless.
Very good. Thanks for the update.
