To test fit a SCBA mask, you look full left, right, up and down and it should not leak. Without positive pressure inside, most masks just reduce your exposure to the hazard, not eliminate it.

Which one?

A spray painter not wearing a spray painter’s mask?

Wearing a cloth under the N95 which is no where in any literature?

Wearing a mask over a beard which makes it useless?

That being said, he was masked as well as everyone who’s masking for covid.

Of course he was in a thick cloud of paint, es evident by him being basically painted white himself and people aren’t walking around in a thick cloud of covid.

The point was stuff gets by.

For years before covid in Dr’s waiting rooms ER’s etc. if someone coughed they had them put on a mask so they wouldn’t cough it out as much

WHAT....are you even talking about??

I have NEVER seen that, in ANY ER or Drs waiting room, in any part of the country, before this PlanDEMic.

Maybe in Asia, or other countries, but, not here. Are you in the US?

A mask would no more keep the ‘germs’ out than a handkerchief or Kleenex would. And, they wouldn’t.

Ya, that one. And I do it with pride.

Same here. And I laughed when I read it.
It's amazing that the same people who believe the Dems stole an election also believe that they wouldn't lie about masks and "vaccines".

Great point.

I am OFTEN amazed by that, too.

Doesn’t add up.

And paint particles are orders of magnitude larger than viruses.

N95s are WORTHLESS.

If they had any value against a virus, they would be BSL3 approved with HPAIV etc.

Back when I was in the Navy in the 80s, if you were on the ship’s damage control team, you were not allowed to have facial hair because the respirator couldn’t seal properly.

I’m in DFW Texas

And yes any time I’ve been in one of those CareNow clinics or an ER waiting room places like that, someone coughs and the lady at the desk makes them take a mask from the dispenser and put it on like a walk of shame ha. Before covid even existed. I thought it was kinda common

Also I remember people were wearing masks a lot in 2009 for swine flu but it didn’t go on for more than a month or so, also that’s when the hand sanitizer products got so popular

“That painter might do better by shaving his beard.”

In the videos he mentioned the use of a second cloth coverup and it was inside the white colored mask as a second effort as recommended by the CDC. Between the two, as is recommended, it should have sealed and and kept something as big as water based paint from getting through to his nose. The moustache was covered by both, and the beard itself away from the moustache was never figured into the picture by the people making the recommendation. They said the two combined would seal. They didn’t. The exercise was to show that even with the two combined, the CDC was wrong on their assessment. I have a mustache to cover up scars from shrapnel wounds under my nose and I was able to get a seal from lesser masks like the M17 and M17a-1 masks from many years ago. But they couldn’t block chlorine let alone a virus.

Now at some point, someone will figure out that using outside air is not going to work with any mask on the market as a virus is far smaller than the particles any of the current masks are designed to stop. The only secure filter to use is a hazmet suit which is sealed and uses O2, i.e. a self containing breathing apparatus, scba. But those are expensive to replace as they are not washable. The good ones can go around $2k each. And unless you work in a clean room, it’s one and done if the suits are exposed. Not cost effective.

Excellent post. He did not know to use the term microns for diameter of threat object or something similar, but the point is the same. Paint aerosolized is MUCH bigger than bacteria or a virus.

Read here: Click here for aerosolized virus info.

Yup, you need positive pressure into a tightly fitted full-face mask to afford real protection.

I was sketching out a design the other day and wondering about 3D printing up some prototypes..

Fit on top like a baseball cap, but a rigid shell. Inside the shell lithium batteries, a REAL filter and air pump..picture one of the hard caps players wear playing baseball..but with a face-shield rigged onto it. :-(

Suck in ambient air through the filter and pass it under pressure to the full-face clear shield that would form the front of the mask.

Would protect the user at modest cost but would NOT protect anyone around them if the wearer had covid...a much more cumbersome arrangement would be needed to also filter the users exhaled air before sending it out for others to breath in.

Of course once you wore it for an hour or so the filter would likely be contaminated so proper handling would be needed.... a flip off cap that can be snapped back onto the filter would work... the filter should be the only contaminated part if the design is good.

People would have a hard time hearing the user talk..so a mic, amp and speaker arrangement would be needed..as well as Bluetooth for working with your smartphone easily.

So then, wear such a contraption that protects lungs and eyes and then remember that hand washing is extremely important and you might be pretty safe...not happy, but safe.

I don’t want to live in a world where people all wear such contraptions though.
