CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A Butler County judge has ruled in favor of a woman who sued to force a hospital to treat her husband with Ivermectin — an anti-parasitic drug that federal regulators have warned against using in COVID-19 patients.
Butler County Common Pleas Judge Gregory Howard ordered West Chester Hospital, part of the UC Health network, to treat Jeffrey Smith, 51, with Ivermectin.
The Aug. 23 decision requires the hospital to allow Dr. Fred Wagshul to administer 30mg of Ivermectin daily for three weeks to Smith.
The judge’s two-page order does not explain the reasoning behind his decision.
Smith has been in the hospital several weeks fighting the virus, court records show.
His wife, Julie Smith, asked the court Aug. 20 for an emergency order for the use of Ivermectin.
Last week, the Food and Drug Administration discouraged the drug from being used to treat patients hospitalized with COVID-19 and from it being used as a preventative measure.
“You are not a horse,” the FDA tweeted on Saturday. “You are not a cow. Seriously, y’all. Stop it.”
Would this fall under Trumps “ Right to Try” medicine law?
They will kill him now….gotta poison the koolaid….can’t have people going around the commie propaganda
the FDA engages in misinformation...AGAIN!
Seems like it would qualify.
On the one hand, I am pleased to hear this.
On the other hand, we now have judges telling doctors how they must practice medicine.
In THIS case, I like the direction, but it’s a slippery slope with a whole lot of room for that to go horribly wrong.
Hope he uses Zinc, azythromycin/doxycyline and Vit D, C and A as well.
“You are not a horse,” the FDA tweeted on Saturday. “You are not a cow. Seriously, y’all. Stop it.”
Whoever tweeted that needs fired immediately.
Just seems to me the last place you want to be anymore when ill is in a hospital or facility as the government regulations of what the Dr.s and Nurses KNOW can help have their hands tied by Government Regulations passed by politicians.
This, from the 'greatest scientific body on earth'. What a con. What silly misdirection. Ivermectin has been used successfully for humans for many decades for many ailments. Seriously y'all at the FDA. Stop this tomfoolery.
The mere fact that these agencies have not just refused to study it, or to spend money to study it, but literally try to discourage it and spread crap "studies" to discredit it is worse than shameful. It's nefarious and the farthest thing from 'following the science'. It's political at best, but probably motivated by far worse ideas.
I'm not a horse's a**, either--unlike the bureau-bumblers.
I watched 1 mg of Ivermectin restore someone's taste--which he'd lost to the Coup-Flu--in 3 hours. All other symptoms, including appearance, by next day. Total of dosages given: 2 mg.
And needless to say, no side effects, either--not that any were anticipated.
Not having any way to push back against rule by experts can make the slope even more slippery.
It is my understanding that the FDA warned against using the ivermectin “cow paste”. The human usage of ivermectin is not the same and it has been used in humans for decades! Wth!
In THIS case, I like the direction, but it’s a slippery slope with a whole lot of room for that to go horribly wrong.
He backed up a patient's medical decision. Yeah, there's some risk even in that, but so long as they don't go beyond that, then I think the benefit outweighs the risk. Now when they start overriding physicians AND patients in the same case to be collectivist and/or PC, then it's Katy bar the door.
No. Here we have a judge ordering a hospital to follow a doctor's treatment plan for his patient.
Good point, but if the patient requests to try it and will sign off I’m good with it.
The CDC tweeted...“You are not a cow. Seriously, y’all. Stop it.”
Sounds really official to me.../s
There is enough evidence in the Public Domain already to RICO the CDC and the FDA, see India, Japan, Iceland. India should be heating things up pretty quick with thier Lawsuit against the WHO quack, if found Guilty he could be Executed.
Does anyone but me find it outrageously hypocritical for the FDA to come out and criticize as dangerous a drug with a fifty-year record of safety for treating humans for parasites, yet doesn’t seem concerned in the slightest about the dangers accompanying a revolutionary new mRNA gene therapy drug that is neither safe nor efficacious.
