Have any prominent/powerful Dems or 'Progressives' become ill and/or hospitalized from COVID? I ask because I cannot recall anyone (on that side of the aisle or cultural debate)of real power, privilege or influence becoming ill, NOT just "I tested positive", and/or hospitalized.
I recall Mr. and Mrs. Tom HAnks were 'ill' but not hospitalized, but cannot think of ANY since. Any prominent member of the House, Senate or Media?
We've seen numerous "far right!!!" people fall ill, and several recently passing away.
This leads me to wonder, did 'they' (members of the Inner Party)get the REAL vaccine?
I mean after all, why else would they (the right people) feel free to attend the several public super-spreader events (0bama birthday .g.) without a care in the world? And notably maskless?
Inquiring minds.
Follow Occam's Razor - if all of us ostensibly got the 'same' vaccine, yet serious infections are aligned to power and privilege ... and political party, then all did NOT get the same vaccine.

A: Jesse Jackson and his wife for one. Both hospitalized. I think Jesse is out but his wife is still in last I heard.
But the question was any prominent.
There are two elements to this. The first will get me flamed, but oh well.
1. Loud Democrats are vaccinated and/or are more likely to seek out solid treatment early like monoclonal antibodies. They aren’t relying on ivermectin. And while there are events like the Obama party, I think there are probably fewer of those than in Republican circles because a significant chunk of Democrats still are going to significant lengths to avoid exposure to the virus.
2. The media is going to cover Republicans that get COVID more than it ever will Democrats. Everyone knows by now the bias that exists.

Secondly, the exception proves the rule.
IF NO prominent lefties, VAX’d get ill and or hospitalized, yet VAX’d notable righties do, then what stats support that distribution of cases?
It’s not like the lefties have been good about masking or social distancing. The common factor is the VAX, (’both’ have ir) and the disparate factor is the incidence of serious clinical infections.
My question remains - please point out ANY notable lefties, with power and influence, who have been seriously ill or hospitalized?
I believe you have nailed it. Whether one chooses to get it or not, the vaccinations work as intended.
Most likely the Democrats are on Ivermectin, but they know enough to keep quiet about it. If not, then what are they doing differently - after all, we’ve all seen how they view masks as something you only need in front of cameras.

Prior to taking the Moderna version of the vaccination back in March, I consulted with my family doc.He gave the wife and i the stats, the chances of having a severe reaction to the vax, and the chance of severe sickness or dying from COVID. The vaccine, he said prevented the need for medical treatment in 85% of COVID cases, and a near 100% chance of surviving the virus. He also told us back then that the vaccines, NONE of them prevented you from getting or spreading the virus, they were designed to prevent sickness and death for the person getting vaccinated, no one else. So I question the term “breakthrough cases” as even being possible. And there are likely a good many cases where the vaccinated people have cases so mild they don’t know they have COVID, and don’t go get tested. I support the right to choose whether or not to get vaccinated and I wish there wasn’t so much propaganda out there on BOTH sides of the issue.
The people against vaccine mandates are libertarians/conservatives. The left knows this. They also know that you can’t vaccinate your way out of this. It keeps mutating. Their bs comparisons to polio and tb are lies. So when the shit hits the fan (real or imagined) guess who’s already set up to take the blame? The political enemies of the left. There will be no mandated vaccine for Covid.
Your premise is wrong. Name one prominent Righty that has gotten the vax and died!? The righties who are dying are unvaccinated!
You may wonder how the Left avoids death. It’s simple— there was a government funded project started under Trump to create covid preventative. The Left have largely embraced this Trump medicine and it is working, to the amazement and wonder of those on the right.
The statistical data are easy to find and they’re compelling. The antivaxers like you are simply not looking at them, ignoring them, and/or claiming they’re not true. (See above for multiple examples.)
I challenge anyone to look at their county or state data. Find out who and how many are in the hospital and who has died in the last 30 or so days. Break it down by age and vaccination status. Even Steven Wonder could find the massive correlation.
The virus doesn’t care about tinfoil hat conspiracy theories. No one is infecting right-wingers to make them look bad. Its wishful and delusional thinking when the data clearly tells the real story.

He was NOT anti vax. He said each person needs to evaluate the risk and talk to their Dr. He decided since he was younger and had no comorbidity he would take Vit D and zinc. He quoted studies that masks were not effective. Distance and hand washing were effective. He never told anyone not to take a vax and, in fact, told his producer Johnny B to get a vax because of comorbidity.

The Pfizer treatment is a decent prophylactic.
My question IS NOT about who is vaccinated or not, it’s about the apparent disparate serious infections along what we might call “party lines” at the high levels.
I repeat - name a prominent, politically powerful leftie who has been vaccinated and who has been seriously ill and/or hospitalized? Show. Me. The Data. There may be lots, but I cannot recall ANY of the (D) reps, senators, or white house staff who have had serious clinical infections.

And Phil was not “far right”.
For emphasis — the vaccine is not per se a classic vaccine. It is a pretty darn effective prophylactic.
Nonetheless, it appears that prominent and or powerful (VAX’d) people on the right seem to get ill with greater frequency.
The folks who won’t get vax’d are taking a high risk they have assessed and weighed against other factors.
I’ve had COVID - 2 Februaries ago. Aches and pains and a dry cough that lasted for WEEKS. This spring, I got 1 & 2 of Pfizer. Booster was last Thursday. My wife as well. No issues.

Let me try again: Name a Righty who was vaxed and became seriously ill or hospitalized.
I maintain the vaccines are working as intended, and those righties who end up dead and splashed on the news were simply unvaccinated.

Governor Abbott here in Texas tested positive for the virus. He had been vaccinated, and his symptoms were extremely mild. And I would have thought he was at a pretty high risk for the virus to make him extremely ill, his having been confined to a wheel chair for years. Not a “breakthrough”, but simply the vaccine working as intended.
I don't think that's entirely Jimmy Wales confirmation bias either - globally, that list is overwhelmingly dead Leftists.

Our friend is a physician at a major hospital system in my state...he's also a conservative Christian...who stated that 96% of the seriously I'll covid patients in his hospital are not vaccinated. He has no reason to lie.
