This video shows the astonishing moment an Aldabra giant tortoise hunts and kills a noddy tern chick.It's the first time this behaviour has ever been documented and changes what scientists thought they knew about the species.
A study of the slow-speed hunt has been published in the scientific journal Current Biology."Everybody knows, or everybody thought they knew, that tortoises are vegetarians," he says.

A lizard is a lizard.......and they ALL eat meat.
One can look up on YouTube; Turtle eats duck.
Global warming no doubt. Once they ice caps are gone will be seeing stories of polar bears eating Seychelles tortoises.
Here in West TX we have a small Box Turtle (Actually a Tortoise) and those little guy’s will eat anything they can get their little mouths on. I’ve seen them catch mice, lizards and even eat on a dead carcass. The pond turtles or Red Eared Sliders are carnivores as are most aquatic turtles. This shouldn’t surprise anybody.

Was golfing with a buddy years ago at a course north of Tampa. We were near a tree and happened to look up at the moment a squirrel jumped down from a branch right on to a robin where it proceeded to eat it.
“IF” the horses were related to it...
Must have been a very slow bird.
