The dignified transfer just ended and the mortuary vans drove off. As Biden lowered his arm from saluting, he looked at his wrist watch. I am fuming.
That’s what I recall as well (not the story - but Reagan started the custom of the president saluting). I can see why some military folks may not like it. However, I think it is a good sign of respect to the military around the president.
Done in the proper manner that is. I never liked Obama’s half-baked salutes. Prancing down the stairs, a quick hand to the forehead without even looking at them.
It is almost time for his nap and he is getting apprehensive.

What happened to the person/s behind Biden? Looks like one or two people were carried off, collapsed or fainted. Definitely at least one person was carried away from where Biden was standing.
A woman from the State Dept collapsed. I watched her and she did look distressed or overcome.
Well, that may be true (probably is), but in the clip that I posted, he looked at his watch just prior to an audience member asking a questions. Could there have been another instance of watch watching?

There is a protocol for saluting but IIRC if you are not in uniform you do not have to salute. Civilians never should salute. The president always is saluted.
