In my part of New England, the governors of several states including Connecticut Massachusetts and I believe Rhode Island, have all said they refuse to issue state wide mask mandates and have generally found ways to leave it up to the various municipalities to implement if they want to.
Unlike in April/May 2020 when mandates were Announced it seemed that you had anywhere from 5 to 10 days from announcement to Implementation. So far, several towns in my area have Implemented their own mandates with 12 hours, sometimes even less notice. For example, one town posted the mandate at approximately 3:45in the afternoon to go into affect at 12:01 A.m. the next day. This left business is scrambling to get enough masks for employees, getting signs, etc.
Of course, every health department or government officials who issued these mandates set a goal was to help businesses, keeps them open, etc. If that was the case you would think they would give at least 36 to 48 hours notice so they can all prepare and be ready.
My current theory on this is they want to sell confusion and chaos to justify their power and when customers or businesses are caught off guard wait for the Karen’s to scream and moan on Facebook about how they were in XYZ store and not everyone was wearing masks, etc. When they could’ve come from a town next-door and had no idea something changed just a couple hours ago.
I’ve shopped at eight business places and not worn my mask since the latest mandate.
The ninth required it. I will avoid going there in the future.

It’s happening everywhere. If I could retire tomorrow and tell my employer to shove it, I would. I will probably still do it, just to see their reaction.
My little mtn town has highway signs at all entrance roads with “masks required indoors in town”. In WMart, 99 percent of customers have been wearing masks. Mandated by governor NC
They will come up with a new version of polio or something to stampede the sheep and there we are again.

I hear ya. I will only comply with private company requirements if I determine it’s in MY best interest to do so, i.e. rather than driving to a state where it’s not required to buy groceries, etc. Other than shopping I no longer go into public places since the mandates and other stupidity began and haven’t missed a thing. For the few meetings I may wish to attend, I’ll propose outdoor meetings.
In NH if some store is not complying with mask mandates, it’s likely to increase their business.
I actually went out of my way to frequent those businesses who did not buckle under the mask mandates.

A local WM had a sign up that said to the effect, that since there was no mask mandate, if you wanted to wear one, you were free to do so, and if you didn’t, please enjoy your mask free shopping.
Our local school board keeps trying to impose masks!
But our county has a dedicated active and large group of moms who keep showing up and protesting!
Monday at 8 AM they will be standing in front of the school board yet again .....imploring them to allow their sons and daughters an option...not a mandate!!!!!

Same here. I kinda know what stores will enforce it and which wont. Though as of now I can jut drive a few miles to a town without a mandate.
I also saw a TV interview with a restaurant owner who was supportive of these mandates, will kindly supply a mask to patron to wear from the door to the table if they don’t have one and talked about how it’s just for a short period of time etc. However in the mandate, the Health Dept never said what metrics need to be met to remove said mandate. Masks first, which will lead to capacity restrictions, etc when that doesn’t work, etc. Get woke, go broke.
What’s 14 more days 520+ days in to 14 days to slow the spread.
Go to rehab for 3 months.
