In recent in vitro tests, Marinomed included four lentiviruses differently pseudotyped with the spike protein of wild-type SARS-CoV-2 or one of the three variants B.1.1.7, B1.351 and P1, respectively. Carragelose was able to inactivate all four virus forms at concentrations below 5 µg/ml. This is clinically relevant for the use of Carragelose-containing products: The marketed nasal sprays have a Carragelose concentration of 1.2 mg / ml, a more than 200-fold higher dose as shown to be effective in vitro. The non-sulfated polymers HPMC and CMC were ineffective even at the highest concentrations tested.
In addition, two of the three SARS-CoV-2 variants (B1.1.7 and B1.351) were independently tested in Vero cell tissue culture in cooperation with the virological institute of the University Hospital Erlangen, Germany. Carragelose showed similar effectiveness against the SARS-CoV-2 wild type and the tested variants.

you can buy pvp iodine nasal swabs at CVS..I use them after I have to go to a hotbed of COVD like the hospital

I was looking for betadine to replace the old stuff in my first aid kit. I couldn’t believe the prices online. I had no idea it was used for so many other things. But as with all things covid related it has shot up 20 30 times.

Thanks for the info. I use Simply Saline nasal spray every morning and night because I live in an area with bad allergens. Maybe I'll get some of these swabs too.
I work in a hospital in Florida where we have a large number of covid patients. Every morning before I walk in I use xlear. Lots of nurses using it too. Once we settle down I’ll go back to only using it if I get a sniffle.

I had to look at a few stores to find them.
YOu can get swabs on Amazon but have seen a lot of bad reviews so I just opted for the more expensive CVS brand. Haven’t come across a dried out one yet.

There has been a study concerning an Iodine nasal spray, that kills all viruses in approx 30 seconds. I read the study, but now can’t find it. Anyone have a copy?

Thanks, I went to Walgreens after reading your post and bought some Xlear. It looks like it's saline nasal spray, so maybe the Simply Saline nasal spray I've been using to fight allergies has also been protecting me from the 'rona.
Saline nasal spray and 1% PVP-I. Povidone-Iodine solution. Comes in 10%, but dilute down to 1% in saline solution. (Some have gone lower to .6% dilution)
Saline solution is 1/2 teaspoon of salt per cup of distilled water, (or boiled water) allowed to cool.
Deactivates Sars2 in 15 seconds.
Also - Listerine Cool Mint, using essential oils, destroys Sars2 virus in seconds. Gargle 3X a day and use the PVP-1 nose wash, and you have reduced the odds of getting and spreading Covid.
Consult your physician.
Virus begins in nose, throat and mouth and works its way to the lungs, yet daily irrigation and gargling can stop it from spreading.

The Betadine has povidone-iodine which is supposed to kill the virus.
