We hate our government (A View from Australia)

A $35K fine for sixty people who gathered in an “illegal” church worship in Sydney. A group of rescue dogs that were shot by a local council so that rescue center staff would not travel to pick them up under the guise of Covid restrictions. Police firing rubber bullets at lockdown protestors. Despotic state premiers refusing the prime minister’s call to reopen once 80% vaccination rates are achieved. Homes of Covid sufferers in South Australia to be marked so that their neighbors can rat them out to police if they breach tyrannical stay at home orders. Celebrities offered cash payments by government to promote the pro-vaccine propaganda line. The military ordered onto Sydney streets.

Why are we surprised? Did anyone think during a plague crisis, real or imagined, that our government would react in any way other than the most stupid, ineffective and damaging? Look at their prior form over the last sixty years. At all levels of government, from the federal to the state and to local councils, the results speak for themselves. A consistent rate of public failure. And underneath all, a foundation of endemic corruption.

What has been the most surprising about the latest events in Afghanistan is not the speed with which the Taliban routed a seemingly invincible enemy. Rather, it has been the schadenfreude of watching the too big to fail get its arse handed to it. And Australia as the lap dog of American imperialism is firmly included in this damning portrayal. We play follow the leader because we have no men with the courage to actually lead.

The truth is, we hate our government. We hate their continued ability to make the wrong decision and then reward themselves for it. We hate their unrelenting meddling in our lives at every level. We hate their constant embracement of every lunatic Marxist propaganda tool that is dreamed up by the legions of traitorous public servants working to undermine and destroy our Australian culture and way of life. We hate the ridiculously high taxation rates under which we suffer and the obscene ways in which government manages to waste this money at every opportunity.

Funny, that didn’t stop Dr Ernesto Guevara and Fidel Castro or Mao from taking over Cuba and China.

We forget that when guns are outlawed, police of ALL kinds, and well-connected politicians, and national guard armories will always have guns. Twenty-five years ago a friend of mine, a Class 03/SOT 07 FFL dealer brokered a sale of MP5’s to Maryland’s harbor tunnel police.

Imagine, glorified meter maids with machine guns.

A Northwest (now Delta, he’s been with them 30 years) Pilot I know routinely sees PAX manifests where dept of Eduction and FDA and other alphabet agencies are cleared to carry THEIR guns on their person on his plane.

Armed “teachers,” bureaucrats. Reminds me of the one gun that got away about 20 years ago, a Walther PPK engraved with the usual nazi waffenamt stamps, plus property of (nsdap’s equivalent of the IRS).

In tyrannical governments, ALL agents are armed, the citizens, not.

I am in your age group as well and live way out in the country.

Most of our nieces and nephews are totally clueless, and will be grist for the mill of the revolutionaries.

But—there is one nephew who is a hacker with a lot of street smarts. He knows what most folks here don’t get. There are no rules anymore.

He is what will be needed if civilization is to survive.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but the federal government’s over the top response to January 6th is to up the stakes for anyone thinking of trying anything like that in the future. It’s designed to scare the chit out of individuals who are not really ready to sacrifice their comfort.

The way I see this is that we don’t win by storming the capitol. We win by laughing at them and ignoring them. And reminding them about the tree of liberty occasionally needing a good watering, when necessary. We are not there yet, though. We may never be. But the scorched earth methodology being used by leftists in our leadership does not bode well.

Scorched earth - “Either our side wins or everybody loses. Win at all costs.”

The first thing we need to do is figure out who “we” is—because the notion that the US can be united in the future is beginning to look a bit quaint.

We live in an age of huge international corporations. Big Pharma has ripped off the mask and shown us their raw power over governments worldwide.

The defense industries have similar power.

Big Tech has similar power.

It is the owners of these companies who are our real enemies—the government clowns are just their puppets—pinatas for the sheeple to hate.

BTW, there is a word for the utter cooperation between government and big businesses; Fascism. Mussolini thought the name “corporatism” was more precise.

This. Which is why it didn’t happen in accordance with the narrative. That wasn’t an insurrection.

Pre-curses to armed revolt:
Loss of trust in the rule of law (I think we are just about there.)
Hungry children/shortage of food supplies. (always closer than you think)
Mass illegal search and seizure & violations of Habeas Corpus (Getting close on this one)
Massacre and or murder of high profile leader. (Can’t even imagine what would happen if they arrested Trump and he died in custody...)

We are dangerously close to societal dissolution. It will only take one spark and I’d be willing to bet it will be an unexpected thing. Once that flashpoint occurs I fear we are far closer to the French revolution than we are to the American revolution. Reason and rationality aren’t exactly strong suites of the American populous at this time.

I miss the days where I felt free to discuss ideas on how we could avoid what is looking all too inevitable.
