So, I now will go down to the SS office on Monday and try my best to
be kind enough not to be kicked out as I try to get to the bottom of this
SS problem

.....I now will go down to the SS office on Monday......
Well that was what they told you to do. Good luck and may
you have answers regarding the solution to the situation.
Working with gov’t agencies, this letter may be telling you the kind of SS you are getting will be stopped. You may get another letter shortly saying your new SS will be started.
I pray you have a resolution to your predicament.
Not related to Social Security, but as you’re ok with driving, and possibility of working a job like Uber or these services where you pickup people’s dry cleaning, groceries, etc? If you’re handy, there are part time jobs where you can assemble furniture, such as IKEA furniture, for people.
Good luck with squaring away the Social Security.
In the meantime if you have anything from the 1987 judge in writing regarding expunging your record. Maybe call the county office that prosecuted you and explain the situation with your wife and they will agree to expunge it. Who knows.
Good luck!
As I stated in the post, I do handyman work, But the price of materials has skyrocketed so many have been priced out if getting things done they wanted. As for Uber, I live in a real small urban area. Uber, door-dash, etc. etc. do not operate around here
However, I am hopeful that I will find something
Judge is long dead and stupid me I never kept any records of it.
Interestingly, my wife, who was in the wreck with me, has turned out to be great record keeper. Unfortunately that was before she became my Mrs.
I am in Spain and I have to apply for SS through the embassy in Madrid. Not only do they not have appointments they don’t even answer the phone. You have to do business by email. But they did answer my email saying that they will be in touch in about 3 weeks.
Don’t apply for The Disability unless you are destitute. You are basically saying “I want to live in poverty for the rest of my life while being enslaved to the government who can take my income away at their discretion”
I was badgered by government people to sign up for Medicaid when I turned 65. I finally caved and signed up for the hospitalization. My wife went to the SS office a few days later for some reason and they told her I had forfeited all SS for life. I hired an attorney, who said that is BS. I'm 70 now and still working. I hope I can start SS next year.
I do not know if you can get a prosecutor to get it expunged (Show them the marriage certificate) or if you have to hire an attorney. Maybe someone would do it pro bono.
Not a lawyer but you might as well try to address it sooner than later. You have tried to do the right thing ask them to do the right thing to assist you so you can work. Wish you the best!
Not only that, but if that Zip code is for your home street address, that is specific to your house.
Who did you vote for???
LOL, the orange hair guy with the hot wife
Anyone, can find me. I am so public I cannot even hide from my wife f I wanted to.
Thus I have great Shepherds who really dislike people I do not like.
Thanks, but at 65 I am not going to worry about it. I’ll do handy man jobs as I find them
Good luck, man.
If you live in a medium or small town, the local SS office won’t be the bureaucratic hell as if you were in a big city. The people who work there will be locals and in my dealings with them helpful.
The biggest thing I noticed was that I was practically the only geezer in the waiting room; everyone else looked to be claiming some kind of disability although perhaps some were young widows claiming SS benefits for their kids
Yes I agree, I live in an Idaho Oregon border town. In Ontario they have an office, and since the town only has 45,000 people getting in will be much easier
