Video taken by a guest shows an unidentified handler at Scales & Tails Utah, in suburban Salt Lake City, talking to some adults and children about the alligator Saturday when it bit her hand and dragged her into the water.
Shane Richins, the company’s owner, said...this time the reptile “got a little extra spunky.”
One of the guests, later identified as Donnie Wiseman, yelled “We’ve got trouble in here!” before jumping into the water and climbing on top of the reptile.
Wiseman got the alligator pinned, and the handler calmly gave him and another man, Todd Christopher, instructions to help her escape from the pool. Wiseman stayed on top of the reptile until the woman was free.
Christopher’s wife... then began performing first aid before emergency crews arrived at the scene.

Alligators…..
Tasty appetizer and good luggage.
Give that lady a hand.
Hat tip to “Crocodile Donny”. Well done!
Stupidity. No other word for it.
Hi.
This is a PSA
Alligators are fu@cking dangerous...
Even a small one will draw blood. A 12 ft. alligator will eat you and your dog.
Don’t come to Florida. If a gator doesn’t get you, an illegal immigrant will.
5.56mm
Give that man a Blue Ribbon.
Is Donnie Wiseman a “Florida Man”?
There are men and there are those that call for help. Examples of both here.
Terrifying just watching the video. Oh, that poor Lady’s forearm must have felt like it was caught in a meat grinder.
She was incrediblly calm throughout the entire ordeal.
I didn’t have the sound on, by the way.
Too bad the children were able to witness it all but maybe they should know how quickly dangerous these animals can become. I would have thought she’d be wearing up to the elbow gloves, made of heavy material.
This appeared to be a young Gator, still rather small compared to many I’ve seen in other photos.
They obviously are born with an instinct to hunt.
No ‘teaching’ was needed.
Good on him!
If it were my company, that gator would now be a static display.
Crocs and gators prevailed over what killed every dinosaur. They are not to be trifled with.
That thing would have twisted her arm off if the guy hadn’t jumped on top of the gator.
“Said in an interview Monday that the handler was opening the enclosure to feed the alligator as usual,”
And any behaviorist will tell you that she waited too long, she ignored the first jump from the alligator.
She was too busy talking and the alligator had been trained that the gate opens, it eats.
What was stupid?
Should have said “lunge”
He was a guest!!! He was great!!!
So impressed.
Wow. Straight out of Elmore Leonard. That’s one of his best books.
