Biden draws criticism from fellow Democrats over deadly Afghanistan withdrawal

Congressional Democrats aren't sparing a president from their own party of criticism over the chaotic U.S. evacuation of Afghanistan as the Taliban seized control of the country and images of fleeing Afghans at Kabul's airport surfaced worldwide.

“There’s no way to hide it. The situation in Afghanistan is another shame on this admin. Withdrawal was never going to be easy but it didn’t need to come to this,” Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, a Texas Democrat and a Foreign Affairs Committee member, tweeted on Sunday. “The US must do everything in its power to help our partners & allies to safety & protect our national security.”

The Texas Democrat, first elected in 2016, was not alone in his criticism of President Joe Biden's administration on the Afghanistan U.S. troop withdrawal. The move ends a 20-year stay in Afghanistan following the Sept. 11 attacks.

Rep. Seth Moulton, a Massachusetts Democrat and a member of the Armed Services Committee, released a statement on Sunday ripping the administration over its evacuation efforts in Afghanistan.

“To say that today is anything short of a disaster would be dishonest," said Moulton, a retired Marine Corps officer who served four tours of duty in Iraq. "Worse, it was avoidable. The time to debate whether we stay in Afghanistan has passed, but there is still time to debate how we manage our retreat. For months, I have been calling on the Administration to evacuate our allies immediately - not to wait for paperwork, for shaky agreements with third countries, or for time to make it look more ‘orderly.'"

Fellow Armed Services Committee member Rep. Ruben Gallego, an Arizona Democrat, went on a Twitter rant calling for transportation to move Afghan refugees out of the country.

It is more than that.

In each congressional district there are families of folks still in Afghanistan.

The Congress-critters are gonna feel like _they_ are being held hostage before this if over...

and they _know_ who did this to them—Joe Biden.

Biden and the coup plotters wanted the Afghanistan withdrawal to take place during the Mike Lindell Symposium. They were off by a few days.

The news black out of the election theft is not going to save them.

“The poll numbers must be awful.”

They said he’s at 46 percent approval, which is where the frauds routinely placed Trump. Down three whole points.

It may become a lot less about re-election prospects as it will about remaining in one piece.

I've expressed my doubts in the recent past about whether Americans would ever rise up against our politicians. It seems this particular debacle is hitting far too close to home for some.

Add in the past 18+ months, massive "real" inflation spikes, and never-ending COVID mandates, and some of the people are would tight as a drum. It won't take much to have it all snap, and the politicians wouldn't fare well under that type of situation.

It only takes a handful on angry families who have made harassing their Congress-critter the number one priority of their lives...

Retired Navy SEAL calls for resignations of top Biden admin officials: ‘They’ve abjectly failed’!

Derrick Van Orden says Afghanistan crisis shows ‘broken’ national security system

Top officials are facing backlash after the Biden administration’s announcement to withdraw all U.S. troops from Afghanistan by Sept. 11 opened a path for the Taliban to take control of the country.

In an interview on “Fox & Friends,” retired Navy SEAL and Wisconsin congressional candidate Derrick Van Orden called on Biden’s top diplomatic advisers to resign, saying they failed in their duty to advise the president.

DERRICK VAN ORDEN: I did two tours in Afghanistan in 2003 and 2009, and, unfortunately, the Biden administration is redefining the word incompetence.

You’ve got Secretary Blinken and Secretary Austin. They need to tender their resignations right now.

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Milley, he needs to go peel potatoes in the galley for about a month and then resign also.

These folks’ primary duty is to advise the president of the United States on diplomatic and military matters and they’ve abjectly failed that. The national security architecture of the United States of America is clearly broken right now.

And this is playing out in real time. People can’t pretend like this isn’t happening. We truly understand now that the emperor has no clothes. As a matter of fact, we don’t even know if he’s wearing clothes right now because he has disappeared from the public.

The president of the United States, in clearly the most dramatic foreign policy crisis in the United States in a very, very long time, probably since Sept. 11, 2001, has disappeared. Jen Psaki has taken the week off too. This is unacceptable.

Remember Viet Nam - the Democrats did this same thing to President Ford.

I was once a soldier. We were actually the Div Ready Force 1 Company (B Co, 1/508) for our Battalion in the 3rd Brigade, 82d Abn Div.; and were headed to the cattle trucks in the B Lane around 3 a.m. when a Jeep from Div HQ came up asking for the CO. Next thing we knew we were told it was too late and those already in the trucks got out and we all went to the Company Day Room. Div HQ sent two old TVs down and we watched the news reels of the Kaos. Our plan if you could call it one, was to jump (parachute) into a park north of the AmEmb with 1st, 2d &3d Platoons (line doggies/Infantry) to dig in to the tree line and us in 4th Platoon (Weapons Platoon) were to dig in and lay fields of fire for the motors and 106/90mm recoilless anti tank guns.

Carter cut the fuel and we walked and walked everywhere - 6 miles to greenramp for jumps, 12 miles back from Sicily DZ, etc. He turned the heat off in the barracks until it was below 35 degrees outside. What a God Awful President Carter was.

I always thought Carter would remain the worst president in US History, but the woke joke Biden far surpassed the shear incompetence - along with divisiveness today, President Carter seems saintly.
