I don’t discount reports and the dire nature and do believe the embassy likely will be taken with hostages but many of these reports are as bogus as Bidungs intelligence reports so who knows? Nevertheless,it looks very grim. Our QRF may have no ability to do much and may take casualties.
The Taliban are moving in too close for an effective US military strike, like the NVA they will probably get in close, and “grab by the belt buckle.” What is the US going to do, drop bombs on their own positions, or bomb civilian urban areas? There is no way of doing effective recon to separate the wolves from the sheep.
