I disagree. No need to wait. Everyone knows that if a US ally were invaded the US can’t and won’t help. This would go a long way to further destabilize and divide the US and western powers.

You might be right. I read from an article that seemed to be authoritative that taking Taiwan would be a lot harder than most people think. Also the Chinese government is weaker than most of us think and if it did not go well there could be an uprising in the mainland.

Russia is going invade and takeover Ukraine. It might absorb part of the country that is pro-Russian. But, that's what those living there want -- to be part of Russia or independence.
