The rapidly escalating surge in COVID-19 infections across the U.S. has caused a shortage of nurses and other front-line staff in virus hotspots that can no longer keep up with the flood of unvaccinated patients and are losing workers to burnout and lucrative out-of-state temporary gigs.
Florida, Arkansas and Louisiana all have more people hospitalized with COVID-19 than any other point in the pandemic, and nursing staff is being stretched thin.

Exactly! It’s due to the massive resignations of Nurses due to vax mandates that is behind the cause of the shortage, not Covid cases.

Didn’t read the article, but I know several nurses and a doctor who quit due to the ‘vaccine’ mandates.
Doctors are being told they will lose their license if they say what they think about the ‘vaccine’.
Over a third of the nurses in Arkansas haven’t taken the vaccine and still don’t plan to take it. That means the ‘crisis’ will get worse. Not because of Covid, but because of the idiotic ‘vaccine’ rules.

Hospitals are now requiring all nurses get the vac. 15% will not for various reasons, wait until they get fired and see how bad the shortage is.

This is why many hospitals are choosing to not require the vaccine. A lot of people have dug their heels in and will not get the vaccine. If they try to coerce nurses into getting vaccinated, they will have to close the doors because they have no staff.
