My Dr. put me on a statin even though my cholesterol was only 177. She said they have a new formula they use that uses your age, weight, and some other parameters that indicated I was at an elevated risk for a heart attack. I asked her what would happen If I lost 30 lbs, could I skip the statins, she seemed to indicate yes. I am 5'9''and 205. Is anyone familiar with this new formula?

Over the last decade, high blood pressure and high blood sugar definitions changed to put more people on medications. I guess this is the same song, different verse.

How can you do that? I already use Stevia. I like to grab a sammich for lunch. Nobody I know has been able to stay on a low carb diet.

Ask your doctor for a study that shows using statins make you live longer. There is no such study.
People with high cholesterol have higher rates of heart disease. Statins lower cholersterol. But there is no study that shows statins make you live longer.
The damage to your body from using statins are real. With no benefit.
Cut out sugar. reduce carbs.

I am Not in the medical field, but I can Think for myself and do research. There are so many natural ways to keep your cholesterol in check. Your mental health also needs cholesterol, your brain needs it to feel good. low cholesterol leads to depression.

If you do start a statin, do a search on CoQ10 and statins.
Statins reduce CoQ10 and the heart muscle needs it.
Ask your doctor about it.

I like to grab a sammich for lunch. Nobody I know has been able to stay on a low carb diet. FWIW, I have. The wife and I found low carb bread, hamburger buns, and occasionally hot dog buns at COSTCO. Called
Natural Ovens Keto-Friendly Bread. Game changer.

You’re about the same size Marshall Faulk was during his NFL days.
