Beat China by ONE gold! That kinda sums sup the state of the world.
We are the third largest country in the world by population and the richest, so it would be surprising if we didn’t do well. Congratulations to us and to our athletes, but it’s going to get harder in the future. We can’t count on other countries being ravaged by war and famine or subjected to colonialism. They now have the leisure for sports and are even letting women play. And the sports are getting stranger and wilder and we can’t be good at all of them.
There were Olympics?
Bruce’s kid almost blew it for the USA. She is the reason the US team finished with the Silver instead of the Gold, that could have cost the US the title for Gold Medals.
In your filthy, commie faces CCP!
The U.S. has long been the richest of the big countries and the biggest of the rich countries. That’s why we have dominated the Olympics in the modern era. But that is about to change. China has four times as many people and is now affluent enough to invest in competitive sports programs, which in the broad scheme of things are frivolous luxury goods. In terms of athletic potential, China is to the U.S. as the U.S. is to Germany. China is going to dominate future Olympics simply because their talent pool is so large. India could match China but India seems not to have much of an athletic culture.
I am so glad we did so well in the Academy Awards.
Easy Team Handball 🤾 is not popular here, but it is a great game...
Was a lot of fun. They should all be very proud( except the PC clowns).
Gotta say I thought the closing ceremonies couldn’t have been more blah and anticlimactic.

Many posters - patriots - will hate me for this, but I think in fairness it’s not surprising if a country with a larger population wins more medals. And the USA has one of the largest populations. So I have done some quick calculations to adjust the medal count for population size, and based on that the tiny countries of the Bahamas, San Marino and Bermuda do the best. If my calculations are correct, the USA falls back into the middle of the nearly 100 countries which won medals, but looks more respectable when you consider that just over 200 countries participated. If it’s any consolation, China, with its enormous population, does even worse.
The Feel-lympics is over?
