But first a word about the Olympics. The Olympics is one of the few chances for nations to come together peacefully and, actually joyfully, to compete. National pride and sovereignty as well as individual skill and prowess is on display.
The Olympics is for people like me who like sports, watching skill in action, the human drama of individuals striving for and reaching life-long goals, and fun in general.
If that doesn’t do it for you, then just remember, the Olympics cerebrates national sovereignty, distinction, and identity which are major factors in the existence of individual freedom in the world - obviously in some nations more than others.
The Do-gooder and Delusional Left doesn’t like national pride and distinction because that gets in the way of their dream of Worldwide Totalitarian Government, which is why they don’t like the U.S and want to blur the competitive edge between nations in the Olympics.
If you have zero interest in any of those things, then go find something in which you are interested.

Haha, yes it is! Sorry for the somewhat large image but I think it reflects the Olympic situation quite well. Not many whiners made a difference and I saw some great Americans win.

Read the body of the thread. The TRUE standing are by medal value not just medal count.
Yeah decent lead in total medals/’points’.
But there’s more glory in Gold. Would have been embarrassing if we lost that.

Well, China was ahead for awhile. Seems like the USSR was consistently beating us once upon a time.
China now, as the USSR then, has their whole government behind their Hitler-like display of “superiority”. I’m happy and a bit surprised we beat China.
Like a lot of folks I’m not fan of Rapinoe, Berry, The Hulk. I would have loved to see them and the SMALL handful of others not representing our country. And some, if we were really lucky move out and rescind their citizenship.
But, like so many out there you put your blinders on, heard what you wanted to hear and could not take a moment to give any of our Olympian’s a chance.

These are jut three. I could go on for days posting the videos of post event interviews of US Olympians doing the same.
I think the US sent more than 600 athletes to Tokyo. And the very very very large majority gave thanks to God and professing their love of the United States.
They were ahead the whole time till the last day! After a robbery vs. Cuba in Boxing last night I thought it was gonna end in a tie but Women’s Volleyball put us over the top.
I hate to see people hating on Team USA because of a few bad apples like the purple haired dyke.
We are the third largest country in the world by population and the richest, so it would be surprising if we didn’t do well. Congratulations to us and to our athletes, but it’s going to get harder in the future. We can’t count on other countries being ravaged by war and famine or subjected to colonialism. They now have the leisure for sports and are even letting women play. And the sports are getting stranger and wilder and we can’t be good at all of them.
