MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Since the pandemic began, just 26 of the 11,600 people in Alabama who have died of COVID-19 were fully vaccinated, State Health Officer Scott Harris said Friday.
And most of the nearly 2,000 COVID-19 patients currently in state hospitals are also unvaccinated, he said.
Harris released the numbers as the state tries to boost lagging vaccination rates. Health officials say recent cases resulting in severe illness and death could have largely been prevented if people had gotten inoculated.

I remember the deaths dropping prior to the introduction of the vaccine. Otoh, the death rate always has been very low. Compare the stats for covid and for heart or cancer.
How very true about the FDA absolutely HAVING TO approve this vaccine after mandating it on the American people they have NO CHOICE but to approve it!! Yes, that goal is good enough for me, smartass. But the point is, with 75% of the new cases being from people who have already been vaccinated, it means the vaccine doesn’t work very well, at least not against the Delta variant which is more contagious than previous variants, but less lethal.

99% of those who are eligible are vaccinated.

20% of their new cases are among unvaccinated people.
That will make it 80% are vaccinated and still got infected.
They still have plenty of unvaccinated people there.
All 1% of them

Actually, plenty of countries including the UK,have had periods when no one died from covid this year.
And THE UK has a population close to 70 million as compared to only 35,000 for Gibraltar.
For a tiny entity like Gibraltar, with a tiny population, going for months without anyone dying is not exactly new, let alone having one person die from covid.
