With Covid-19 vaccination rates slowing around the world, now is not the time to buy biotechnology company Novavax (NASDAQ:NVAX) stock.
NVAX stock fell 10% between July 20 and July 27 as hope fades that the company will be able to get its Covid-19 vaccine to market in time to capitalize on demand for immunization against the deadly respiratory disease.
Novavax’s share price has now declined 23% since the end of April and is 37% below its 52-week high reached in early February of this year. While the stock remains up 63% on the year, most of those gains occurred in early January when Covid-19 infection rates globally were at their peak.
With NVAX stock continuing to slide backwards, investors would be best advised to remain on the sidelines for the time being.
While the company is confident it will eventually secure Emergency Use Authorization based on the successful results of its late-stage clinical trial , it is not clear when the FDA will actually approve Novavax’s shot. The latest from the company is that it hopes to receive FDA approval sometime in the current third quarter.
Meanwhile, vaccination rates in developed countries such as the U.S., England and Canada appear to be plateauing as more than half the population in those countries has gotten vaccinated against Covid-19. Inoculations have slowed dramatically as people who want or are able to get vaccinated have done so using the vaccines developed by Novavax rivals Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) and Moderna (NASDAQ:MRNA).

It’s been volatile, and at 179/180 still not a bargain. If it drops to 150 I’m getting back in. The technology is interesting, but I’m still looking at it as a short-term “fun bet”, rather than a buy and hold stock.

Sheesh. This stock is VERRRY EXPENSIVE. Even more expensive per share than Apple (AAPL), which is now at about $146/share.
Shareholders must be optimistic about their Covid vaccine.
There vaccine may appeal to a lot of people who are hesitant to take the mRNA based vaccines. The NovaVax vaccines is a traditional vaccine like the annual flu vaccine, in that it uses depleted copies of the virus that the body teaches itself to fight.
I won’t take the mRNA vax, but I will that the NovaVax vaccine and suspect there are a lot of thinking people out there who would as well, plus there might be many who took the mRNA vaccine who will take this as a booster.
The “pandemic” Isn’t a big enough pandemic for me to take any vaccine. The only person I know who has covid now, is a fully vaxxed person.
I went to work every day since this thing started with 35 other people. We didn’t wear masks or social distanced. None of us got covid
I would say the big fall is Moderna from $350 a share
Side note: My vitamin D levels are really low. They put me on prescribed powerful vitamin D for 12 weeks. I’m still fine. So, I should be dead according to some.
RE: The only person I know who has covid now, is a fully vaxxed person.
Is that person sick? Or did he just test positive?

You guys must be doing something right. Are you taking anything since you never got vaccinated?
Does any average American have a clue as to the specific ingredients of the Franken-Jab?
