I have saved old history books which I passed on to my daughter who was home schooling the grands.

I hope she has saved them to pass on.

The new history books, used at schools, are garbage.

That is a treasure heirloom, Gran.

I hope she’s saved them, too. They’re not making those books, any more :-(

I was thinking that CB was wondering how deaf people have been able to manage communication if they read lips, with everyone wearing masks. For example, they go to the grocery store and need deli ham. They can point to the item, but how will they know the employee asked them how much they want or how do they want it sliced?

“It was so nice to get out and enjoy the beauty of nature.”

It has been TERRIBLE here. 101 degrees again today and from fires up north our air quality is terrible. Getting out to enjoy anything is impossible.

Now the USA is leaving, who is going to pay salaries to Afghans Govt staff. They are switching sides now. Those who are refusing may lose a life.

They will blow each other. They can’t be helped. The USA wasted 88 Billion dollars on training.

This, like XiDen, did not age well....

They won’t leave any military dogs behind this time. They will gather them all up for Fauci to experiment on.

I haven’t been on today so I don’t know what brought on the discussion of babies IQ and Spirit you wondering how they could test a babies IQ so I went searching.

I know when babies are born they are given what they call an APGAR score it isn’t an IQ test but according to the
Danish study below it can determine how a low score effects outcomes in some older children, adults.

“In 1952, Dr. Virginia Apgar devised a scoring system that was a rapid method of assessing the clinical status of the newborn infant at 1 minute of age and the need for prompt intervention to establish breathing..”

Here is some of what the Danish study says about a low score.

“Most newborns with Apgar scores below 7 grow up healthy, but risks of neurodevelopmental disability among them are greater than among those with higher Apgar scores, particularly in the short term [8, 14–16]. Increased risks have been reported for neonatal seizures [8]; neonatal intracranial hemorrhage [8]; cerebral palsy [8, 14, 15]; mental retardation [8]; and epilepsy [16, 17]. There are also reports of association between five-minute Apgar scores below 7 and risk of motor and developmental impairments at school age, including symptoms of attention deficit [18] and speech and language problems [19]. Less is known about long-term or mild neurodevelopmental disability among newborns with low Apgar scores. Recently, Odd et al., in a large study of Swedish conscripts, reported that worse cognitive performance was related to taking a longer time to achieve an Apgar score >6 [20]. This finding was in contrast to an earlier study by Seidman et al., who found little association between Apgar score and cognitive function among Israeli draftees [21]. Neither of the studies examined outcomes in men who are exempt from the draft. We studied the association of five-minute Apgar score with neurodevelopmental outcomes among Danish draftees. In addition to cognitive function, we examined prevalence of neurologic diseases, some of which are grounds for exemption from the military service.”

“Conclusion
A five-minute Apgar score <7 has a consistent association with prevalence of neurologic disability and with low cognitive function in early adulthood.”

Here is another article you might want to take a quick look at because I don’t think it comes to the same conclusion.
