As a long time member here, I am asking; wouldn't it be better to put the City/State in Parentheses at the end of the title when we all post?
ie: Shooting leaves 4 dead over the weekend (Detroit, MI)
Just a thought, as it would make it easier to know where it happened without having to go to the link for that info only.
Put it in the comment section. Otherwise you are changing the title and run into copyright issues
Nothing is stopping posters from doing that. I think it’s a good idea. Not everybody knows what state “Springfield” is in.
I think that is a good idea... many a time I have had to read deep into the post to find out.... and sometimes you never find out!
I wish people would do this. I mean, OK if it’s Detroit or wherever, you know where that is. But if it’s a smaller place one has no idea of where something happened.
There was a story today about something that happened in Paris. But it was all English names. Well, pretty sure it happened in the US but isn’t there more than one Paris in the US?
There used to be a dateline that told you where things were being reported.

ML/NJ
You should also define your acronyms. NPV could be net present value or Normalized Pulse Volume.
Homer lives there doesn’t he?
That would be a helpful guide.
35 states have a city named Springfield.
There is a Detroit in Oregon. Well there was, it burned down in last years forest fire.
Yeah, but he moved all over before that. It was a real odyssey.
How about square brackets [ ]
I think they can be used to add information.

In general, people don’t put themselves in other people’s shoes. It’s not just stuff like this, it’s everything.
100% AGREE.
Boss, some help here, please.
Or at least the state.
I share your frustration in trying to figure out where so much of this stuff happens.

There is also a Milwaukee ORE no? A Gresham ORE?
Here is the unfortunate thing I see. This is now happening so often that we would want to filter it to a locality.
It is broken...
