Breakthrough infections, or COVID-19 cases diagnosed after someone is fully immunized, were supposed to be rare - at least that's what a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggested in May. At the time, data indicated that just 0.01% of vaccinated Americans got a breakthrough case from January to April.
But that was before the more transmissible Delta variant became the dominant strain in the US.
The share of breakthrough infections also inevitably rises as more people get vaccinated - though it's hard to know how many of these cases occurred since the CDC report came out. The agency stopped tracking asymptomatic, mild, or moderate breakthrough cases on May 1.
Though the current vaccines still protect against Delta, the chances that you'll know someone with a breakthrough case, or develop one yourself, are higher than they've ever been.
But most disease experts still expect COVID-19 to be milder in vaccinated people, regardless of the variant.
"The variants may cause you to still maybe get an infection, but not serious," Peter Gulick, an associate professor of medicine at Michigan State University, told Insider in June. "It would be almost like getting an infection with the common cold or one of those nagging things that gives you sniffles and a cough and makes you feel a little tired, but nothing serious enough to put you in the hospital or put you on a ventilator."

Israel released their Pfizer data. It’s 39% effective for preventing infection from the Delta variant of COVID. That’s significantly lower than the 50% standard groups like the CDC traditionally use to say a vaccine is worth taking. The UK also just released data saying the Pfizer vaccine is 88% effective against COVID infection. But their number is based on data taken before the Delta variant was active. Also, their data pool is much smaller as most people in the UK were given the AstraZeneca vaccine. Almost all Israelis were given the Pfizer vaccine. The UK has also determined that the best timing interval for the Pfizer vaccine is 8 weeks between shots. That’s less than the 12 weeks they were using, but much longer than the 2 weeks the United States uses. Keep in mind that what all this means is that some of the leading health organizations in the western world really don’t know much about the vaccine they are asking everyone to take. 6 months ago, they all claimed the Pfizer vaccine was 97% effective at keeping people from getting COVID. Now it’s 39% and instead of saying it will keep you from getting COVID, they are now saying it will keep you from getting a serious case of COVID. Nice thought except before any vaccines existed, only a small percent of people who got COVID got a serious case of COVID. Most people who get it have a mild case or remain asymptomatic whether they’ve been vaccinated or not.
One last point to ponder as the Delta variant takes over the US. The CDC has asked vaccinated Americans not to get tested for COVID unless they need to be hospitalized. Think about that when the media pushes numbers regarding who is currently getting COVID in this country. It grossly skews the data to show unvaccinated people getting COVID, while hiding the reality (as seen in the UK and Israel) that vaccinated people are getting it as well. Nothing about this virus has been handled honestly. What a shame.
That’s how I see it. The vaccines are experimental and have a lot of unknowns. I worry about Antibody-Dependent Enhancement (ADE) messing with people’s immune systems. The virus itself has a low mortality — especially with the Delta variant which spreads fast and kills very few. Natural herd immunity seems like the best option to me.
A couple other things that bother me:
The government has no interest in Antibody tests. They don’t really care if you show evidence of immunity. They just want you to get the jab. The jab seems very important to them. I find that disturbing.
Also, in January we had about 4000 people dying in the US each day. Now, we have fewer than 400 people dying in the US each day. And the government seems to be in a complete panic. That makes no sense. Why??

Yup. Particularly for >80% of the population, especially children (who are now part of the ‘push’).
Vaxxers don’t like to discuss the inconvenient fact that nearly all of those unvaccinated under 50 who get infected experience symptoms like a mild flu, and now the propaganda is that you’ll still be likely to get sick and spread it.
Tell me again the purpose of getting the experimental procedure???
It's turning in to a situation like climate change. Point out all the bad data, duplicitous actions taken by those pushing the narrative, and the inconsistencies in measures taken to deal with it and you are label an anti-science bigot who wants people to die; who should be censored, re-educated or even killed.
More than 97% of those under 50 who are NOT ‘vaccinated’ and get infected experience the same symptoms WITHOUT being exposed to an experimental medical procedure whose adverse effects are now being covered up.

Covid is so deadly you have to have a test for you to know you have it.
The vaccine is so safe the manufacturers demanded an immunity against lawsuits in case of death/injury

They've spent all this time and effort on these vaccines but little to no effort on finding better treatments for the disease itself.
Doctors and the public were denied existing, approved medications that had shown some success. Doctors were even fired for using unapproved treatments like hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin.
Hydroxychloroquine has been approved by the FDA for over 75 years and all of the sudden they treated it like it was rat poison.
That and the big push to get everyone vaccinated for a disease that has a 99.8% survivor rate, has always made me suspect that some other unnamed, hidden agenda is afoot.
Convince me otherwise.

...oh but you will. If you aren’t immunized, you could get sick, spread it without symptoms, and die. And if you GET immunized, you could get sick, spread it without symptoms, and die. So the face diaper will save you forever, except when it won’t.
If you are immunized, wear a face diaper, and stay at home, you can still get this disease and get counted as Somebody.
