It's ironic that the documentarian best known for a television series about the Civil War seems to have forgotten the Civil War. That is the only conclusion one would have to make about PBS filmmaker Ken Burns because on Friday's The 11th Hour With Brian Williams, after briefly discussing Robert E. Lee and Woodrow Wilson, he declared that "this is the most fraught time I think in the history of our republic."
Really, Ken? More fraught than the American Civil War that you chronicled in which over half a million died? Well, according to the sanctimonious lecture provided by Burns, these times are even worse because of "misinformation and paranoia and the lying voter suppression."
He's saying this to Brian Williams, who is known for misinformation. There's a lecture about Critical Race Theory, and Burns cartoons the conservative (and common sense) opposition as usual.

The Communist Revolution does not come peacefully and does not simply seek to make “2 Americas”. It wants domination over the whole thing and its people.
I always thought he was gay.
Ken Burns should watch the series called The Civil War.
He might learn something.
Should we take this as the Democrats threatening to secede again?
Maybe. They were putting up statues then now we’re tearing them down so............... :=}
The series “The Divided Union” was much better history.
He is
Im a way he might be right. There were about 700,000 men killed during the Civil War. Before these Democrats are done destroying this Republic there may be 7 million Americans dead.
Al Gore says that everything bad is caused by Global Warming. So I must conclude that Global Warming has caused Ken Burns to go insane. Poor Ken.
Oh, wait. Maybe Ken isn’t so crazy after all. If he and his fellow liberals can get everyone all worked up, it would then be easier for Biden to suppress conservatives.

If he’s hinting that Critical Race Theory has the potential to start a new ‘Civil War’ then it would be hard to disagree.
Not yet, Kenny... but give it time...
The unrelenting Marxist attempt to destroy this nation as we know it and convert it to Cuba probably qualifies as the most fraught time in the history of our Republic.
He’s about as effeminate as one can get without officially being gay.
Well, to be fair. Southern secession wasn’t a threat of any kind to the Republic. The Republic continued as before in those states which had not seceded.
And the Confederacy itself was a Republic. Similar in many respects the one from which it had seceded.
He does look like a typical Democrat. I can’t picture him in uniform from either side of the CW.
REALLY? The entire first episode of “The Civil War” was about how it affected everybody in America, in every state, city, town, and village. The bemoaners went on to say that even the way the country was referred to was changed (From “The United States ARE” to “The United States IS”). “Experts of all races and creeds piled on (with droning, mournful violin music in the background) about to unspeakable TRAUMA the Civil War brought to our country.
Was he lying then, or is he lying now?
What an insufferable BORE he is.
And I’m a “Civil War ‘buff”.
If he isn’t...he should seriously consider it..and possibly gender “reassignment”¿¿¿
