It's not just Trump supporters who are resisting the COVID vaccine

Yet based on reports in the press, "vaccine hesitancy" is purely a Trumpster phenomenon.

On May 21, federal health officials testified before Congress that only 60% of their employees had received the COVID vaccine.

That was almost exactly the same vaccination rate as that of the public at large. My question: Why is the public continually misled that the people not getting the vaccine are just Trump supporters?

Why hadn’t 40% of federal health workers received the shot by May 21, since I am sure it had been available to them for about six months?

Neither public health officials nor the press is asking those questions. But if I had to guess, it would come down to trust.

Why should the public trust public health officials and social media outlets to be the deciders of what is true and not true about the virus since they intentionally blocked anyone who blamed the origin of the disease on the Wuhan Lab and essentially called it a false conspiracy theory?

The blocking of that information for one year was extremely damaging to any investigation.

My dad (84) got the shots. He’s okay...for now. Who knows how long he’ll be around anyway.

My uber-lib sister and her hubby both got the vax as soon as they were eligible. They are both of the ‘trust the science’ cult...but they are both of the pro-abort, pro-homo, pro-BLM/Antifa, kill all Trump supporters faction of the Far Left as well. (I fully expect her to turn me and my family in to the Feds at some point in the future.)

I have NOT taken the vaxx. NONE of my family did, and ALL SIX of us in my family got COVID. I was the worst. I received the monoclonal injection therapy (Regeneron) 4 days after I was diagnosed, and I recovered fairly well after that...although I still had tightness in my chest for a couple weeks after the major symptoms left. No one had to go to the hospital. My uber-lib sister said we were, in her words, “extremely lucky no one died”. (99.7% survival rate)

Even so, and even though all of the people in my family now have the COVID antibodies in us, we are STILL being pushed, cajoled, pressured, and ridiculed to go out and get the vaxx. I WILL NOT. NO ONE in my family will, by their OWN choice. I personally believe that if I take the vaxx, I will be DEAD within 24 to 48 hours. I have no facts to back that up, I just believe it deep in my guts.

If the government goons show up at my house and attempt to force me to take the jab, they can just put a bullet in my head...THE OUTCOME WOULD BE THE SAME. And the government wants me and people like me dead anyway.

I am truly sorry for those two in the post #199 that are in the hospital. I am sorry that they weren’t as lucky as I was. (Actually, I believe it was the protection of Almighty God, not dumb luck.) Be that as it may...if someone has chosen, for whatever reason, not to take the vaxx, that is THEIR choice. It is likely that their choice will not change. As (for now) FREE AMERICANS, that IS our choice....just as it was your choice to do so.

I think people over 70 with lung, heart or diabetic issues should consult with their doctor and consider getting vaccinated. But that’s as far as I go with a recommendation.

Goons are not going to haul you off or hold you down for a vaccine.

Even Pro Vax people like myself are more than willing to fight for your rights and safety.

I’m against all forms of vaccine I.D.s or any kind of “Passports” too.

Understood. I was not saying YOU were trying to push me into it, but my family is. My Dad's a conservative, my sister is certainly NOT...and she's the more insistent of the two. She's one of those who believe the Sun rises and sets on Biden's ass.

I have diabetes, as does my dad, my brother-in-law, and my sister (who was only diagnosed a couple weeks ago...months after getting the jab).

I'm afraid there are a good number of FReepers who DO believe that this is going to happen...and the number is increasing. With the way the governments (federal, state, and local) are acting. I'm fairly sure that Biden (and a few governors) would LOVE to pull something like that. Let's just say that I HOPE that doesn't happen.

Very short answer is VACCINE DOES NOT CREATE AIR TIGHT PLASTIC BUBBLE AROUND YOU. If there are infected people nearby exuding large loads of virus, I will get infected even if vaxxed. But my body will be better prepared to fight the virus. So I prefer fully vaxxed people near me because they are less likely to be seriously sick and exhale large loads of virus.

For the UMPTEENTH time, vaccines are NOT a shroud of glass around you to prevent infection from the virus. If you are in close vicinity of an infected person (with or without symptoms) you will inhale the virus in your respiratory system.

Vaccine’s primary function is to prepare your immune system to fight the virus and prevail, thus preventing death in isolation ward of hospitals. Covid virus has history of creating over-the-top response in some UN-vaccinated people because it is a new virus and multiplies fast in lungs. The body goes into a state of shock of this unknown virus multiplying like crazy in lungs and then responds by sending millions of white corpuscles to the lung to attack the virus, but in that process many patients had their lung tissue obliterated by their own out of control corpuscles.

Let me tell you my side of the story... I had covid, it was a two week light cold. My father had it as well, he is over-weight, over-eighty, and immune comprimised, it took him six weeks, and not even a doctor visit. This covid is BS. So, why get “vaccinated” for a virus, when you have to have nine toes in the grave to die from? To get a “vaccine” that might barely work?

The bigger questions are why was this blown way out of proportion, the only answer is they wanted to jab people with something. What that is we do not rightly know yet. Patent rights, slow death, sterilization, fatal to EMP, etc., take your pick.

The Chinese have been looking for a way to kill all Americans all-at-once, this could be it.

Get your mind behind the numbers. 186,000,000 Americans already have been jabbed. How many million have died from it? 10 million? 5 million? 1 million? 1/2 million? 250,000? 100,000?

Finally with actual PERSONAL EXOERIENCE of 7 close family members, from ages 27 to 81, not a single issue has surfaced 20 weeks after the 2 jabs were taken. Based on personal experience, this vaccine is a nothing burger.

That said, I do not think younger and healthy people really need the jabs. Looking back, I probably got a mild infection during a jam packed Carnival cruise near end of February 2020. At the time covid was not in news, so I treated it like a ordinary dry cough and it went away after 2 weeks without any medications except just gargling with salt water.

At the same time I can not ignore the massacres in nursing homes from covid.

Governments are setting up nothing less than Medical Apartheid, over a death rate equal to a moderate flu? It’s a experimental gene therapy with no animal testing, but after the last known mRNA animal test, all the injected ferrets died within a year. Even Merck said it was better to get covid than take the “vaccine”.

Ok, what is your point? Has anyone suggested there shouldn't be experiments or that people should have the freedom to voluntarily joint an experimental treatment?

Those same people should have an absolute right to not take a treatment experimental or not. The onus is on those demanding a treatment to prove the absolute necessity to submit to the treatment.

There was a thread with a video of a fast-talking human rights speaker. She said that after the Nuremburg Trials they banned medical experiments forced on people.

Now some will say that these “vaccines” are not forced. Everyone can choose to get one or not. I guess it depends on what “forced” means.

Yes, you should wear a mask in a nursing home to protect NOT YOU, but those very vulnerable folks living there. Covid has history of killing them fast if infected. You may not be infected, but some other visitor could be.
I was at a open air concert on the beach at St Augustine Beach on Wednesday. Place was jammed, music was great and loud, and not many were with masks.
We have no control over what Canada or any other soverign country does.

I do not think anyone under age 50 in excellent health needs the jabs.

Majority of our workers fit inside that category of people.
Lockdowns are totally not necessary for them.

I was infected with covid in February 2020 on a jam packed cruise ship. At that time covid was not much in news. So the dry cough I had for 2 weeks post-cruise, I just ignored it and it went away on its own. I was at age 80 during that cruise but I am healthy as a race horse with daily gym exercise. But I am fully aware of how vulnerable people in bad health are to covid infections.

Healthy people can get infected with covid, but majority will not even show symptoms, and others will recover. However some of them could have family members in comorbid health. So it is better if they are vaxxed and thus have less chance of getting serious symptoms and exude large loads of virus. That is the main reason I got the jabs. I am healthy but my wife is fighting stage-4 cancer and has compromised immunity system. I do not want to get serious covid symptoms. I know I will recover but she will catch it from me and will not be able to recover.
