ST. PETERSBURG — What otherwise might seem a mundane Tuesday night Rays game at Tropicana Field against the last-place Orioles will be historic before the first pitch is thrown.
That’s because it will be the first major-league game called by an all-female broadcast team, per Major League Baseball and YouTube, which will show the game exclusively.

That sounds very stylish.
Has anyone ever gotten to third base with any of these girls calling it?
The BS equality crap. We’ve had female sports anchor in KC for years and I have never been able to watch her. It was so embarrassing when she’s on the field after we won the World Series a few years ago and the Super Bowl.
You know this means there wii be no stories about Nellie Fox and his chewing tobacco.

Soy.
Make sure you do them in that order.
They are called innings? I thought they were periods. Or as my blonde date asked at halftime: How many halves are there?
Thank God it's not Beth Mowins. At least if your s/o complains about you watching baseball you can tell her you're doing your part for women's rights.
Why else would you want to watch MLB's poorest-attended team vs. the team with the AL's worst record?
Kinda reminds me of when NBC tried an announcer-less game. It was actually a ratings stunt because the game was scheduled for a Saturday late in the season and the two participants were already out of playoff contention. They took a game nobody really wanted to watch and turned it into Must-See TV simply by muting Bob Costas.
They’d probably get lost if they did.
No, but four balls will get you to first base.
Another sporting event I look forward to never watching again. If I want to see a bunch of spoiled ball chasers bash say how much theynhate me I would just watch CNN.
I don’t do that either.
It took me awhile to get used to Beth Mowins when she did play-by-play for the Gonzaga men’s basketball games on ESPN.
In my opinion she’s just as good as the guys—she sticks to the game, no personal stuff (she knows what her mostly male audience wants to hear), her enthusiasm is genuine (she really likes being there) and her knowledge and preparedness amazes me. You can tell she studies the teams and does her homework.
She obviously has her dream job and as long as she does it well, why not?
I gave up MLB baseball last year, didn’t watch a game. However, the Reds are a very exciting team this year and I can’t help myself. I have watched a few games. The thing is, I now can’t stomach the sports jocks mindless drivel. I turn down the volume. There’s a game day function on MLB team’s websites. It’s a live, text only feed of the game. Balls and strikes, action on the field etc. with no irrelevant, time filling gum flapping. I prefer this to listening to the broadcast. Plus, last year they fired my favorite sports talking head for giving us all the heads up about the homos in KC.
What would Chuck Thompson say?
Maybe, “how ‘bout that”.
Stylish.
Some things should be just for the boys and other things just for the girls. Men have had so much taken from them in that regard.
It’s not that men are better than women or that women are better than men. We are just different.
Agree.
They really do. They have destroyed spectator sports. I used to be a big baseball and football fan before the stupid liberals ruined it.
Who wants to listen to a bunch of women commenting a baseball game? I sure don’t.
If they’re good I couldn’t care less. However, I do hate hearing female sports announcers that sound, ahem, like butch lesbians. Hard to explain, but you’ll know it when you hear it. Very masculine sounding voice and delivery.
