Melanie Newman, a member of the Orioles’ broadcast crew, will handle play-by-play duties, her second national YouTube game appearance. Sarah Langs, an mlb.com reporter who specializes in analytics and advanced stats, will be the analyst. Alanna Rizzo, an MLB Network host who previously worked on the Dodgers broadcasts, will be the in-game reporter. In addition, Heidi Watney and Lauren Gardner of MLB Network will be the co-hosts of the MLB Game of the Week Live on YouTube’s pregame and postgame shows.

Thank God it's not Beth Mowins. At least if your s/o complains about you watching baseball you can tell her you're doing your part for women's rights.

Why else would you want to watch MLB's poorest-attended team vs. the team with the AL's worst record?

Kinda reminds me of when NBC tried an announcer-less game. It was actually a ratings stunt because the game was scheduled for a Saturday late in the season and the two participants were already out of playoff contention. They took a game nobody really wanted to watch and turned it into Must-See TV simply by muting Bob Costas.

It took me awhile to get used to Beth Mowins when she did play-by-play for the Gonzaga men’s basketball games on ESPN.
In my opinion she’s just as good as the guys—she sticks to the game, no personal stuff (she knows what her mostly male audience wants to hear), her enthusiasm is genuine (she really likes being there) and her knowledge and preparedness amazes me. You can tell she studies the teams and does her homework.
She obviously has her dream job and as long as she does it well, why not?
