Just as store shelves are consistently stocked with toilet paper again, U.S. consumers could be facing another shortage this summer: suitcases.
With pent-up travel demand manifesting in the form of surging bookings, vacationers in the market for new luggage could find themselves up against product scarcity and high prices as they prepare to pack for their next round of adventures.
But it’s not just an increase in demand that has left shelves at many major retailers nearly bare. A combination of factors has led to a breakdown in the supply chain that keeps stores stocked with suitcases.

They’re mr. mm’s favorite way to transport clothes for trips.
I’ve noticed the empty shelves in the luggage aisle at our local Wal Mart. But I’ve been using my same luggage for quite a few years now so I’m not worried.
I still have mine too! I had it modified with a sturdy zipper in the side because it seemed that what I needed was always near the bottom.

Just make sure the business has an anti-bedbug regimen for when they are returned, especially if anyone was going to New York City.
Then there was the time I went to Arizona, the Painted Desert, other points out west, and came home with ants in my tote bag.
I already run such an operation. When my kids go places, they borrow our luggage out of our attic. Sometimes they even remember to return it.
There is a variety of suitcases in good condition at the thrift store.

There is my is not for sale. I was able to get rid of an old abandon 25 foot RV this week. The new owners even empty out all the junk from it. It was in very bad shape.
My A bag develop holes in it, it traveled to many times to the sandbox.
I still have the suitcases I bought in the 1990s. Makes no sense why travelers suddenly need new suitcases.
Depends on how often you use them.
I wear out a roll around suitcase about every 3 - 4 years. (And that’s not counting the damage that baggage handlers and TSA do to them.)
Yep - check your Local Thrift shop — I donate suitcases (up-to-date & in very good shape) to them all the time.
I work with clients who are moving to Senior communities — they always have a LOT of suitcases in all sizes that they don’t need.
