6 minute clip from a Newhart episode.
I've been laughing all day from this.

Was it one of his shows or something like SNL or Mad TV? Didn’t seem to be one of his shows. The audience seemed to applaud when they saw it was Newhart. It looked shot on videotape as opposed to film (his shows were on film).

It was MAD TV, which was a great show, I thought it was better than SNL, and that was when SNL was still decent.

“And I don’t make change.” She got her money's worth. In fact, a hell of a deal.

I think Bob would have wore a mask though:

I like Newhart very much, but I didn’t think this was humorous at all. Much of his humor is intelligent, unlike this clip which to me is just hostile and insipid. He always seemed to me to be a gentle man. He seems uncomfortable in this clip.
Speaking of insipid, my favorite drinking game in college was “Hi Bob.” Take a drink every time someone said, “Hi Bob,” on the Bob Newhart Show.

she had a rich, husky bed room sort of voice that would have melted me in her presence. Sad, as she aged, it was more of a gravel bass voice. Too many years of heavy smoking I reckon.

It was actually a skit from a FOX comedy show - but the name of it escapes me. These guys were also part of it, and Jim Carey got his start there. (Fire Marshall Bill?) MAD TV? Homey The Clown? It was all pretty hilarious and totally un-PC. ;)

Jamie Fox? Daymon Wayans?

Here’s a little known fact for ya, Sammy: Suzanne Pleshette was offered the role of the Catwoman on the 1960s Batman TV series. However, she wanted more money than the producers were willing to pay, so the role went to Julie Newmar instead.
