Future Hall of Famer Richard Sherman was arrested early this morning in Washington for "burglary domestic violence" ... and has been denied bail, TMZ Sports has learned.

The 33-year-old NFL free agent was booked into the King County Correctional Facility in Seattle at 6:08 AM ... and is currently sitting behind bars.

The Burglary Domestic Violence charge is a felony in Washington state ... and can carry a lengthy prison sentence, if convicted.

The details surrounding the arrest are not yet clear.

Sherman -- who played with the San Francisco 49ers last season -- is one of the best players of his generation. RS is a 5x Pro Bowler, Super Bowl Champ, and a lock to be immortalized in Canton, Ohio.

We've reached out to Sherman's rep ... but so far, no word back.

The King County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Redmond police arrested former Seahawk Richard Sherman.

Sherman, who is currently a free agent, was booked at 6:08 a.m. Wednesday.

A Redmond police spokesperson told ESPN, who first reported the story, a 911 call came in at 2 a.m. from someone calling saying that an adult male family member who did not live at the residence was attempting to force his way into the home.

The spokesperson said when officers arrived, the suspect fought with police but was eventually taken into custody and no one was injured.

Typically, the notion of “burglary domestic violence” refers to someone entering or refusing to leave a house or dwelling within the context of a domestic dispute. For example, someone who gets locked out of a house during a argument with a spouse or significant other and then breaks in potentially has committed “burglary domestic violence.”

Sherman is a vice president of the NFLPA and one of 11 players on its executive committee. Sherman, 33, married his longtime partner, Ashley Moss, in 2018. The couple has two children, a son and a daughter, and keeps a home in the Seattle area.
