Update 8:20 p.m. — The Chicago Tribune tonight reported Sylvester suffered “as many as 64 bullet wounds.”
Gunmen shot and killed a Chicago rapper Saturday evening as he walked out of Cook County Jail where he had been held for over a year on gun charges, according to multiple sources. A 60-year-old woman who was walking near the rapper and an activist who works outside the jail to assist newly-released detainees were also shot, the sources said.
Londre Sylvester, a 31-year-old who performed as KTS Dre, was pronounced dead at Mt. Sinai Hospital shortly after the 8:50 p.m. shooting near the intersection of California and 27th streets. “KTS” stands for “Kill To Survive,” a phrase he also had tattooed on his neck along with a target symbol.

Got to say that, by Chicago Amish standards, it was a well done hit, with all but two of the rounds going into the intended target and the other two only doing minor damage to the two women. Also looks like it was intended to send a double message: (1) not to screw with those who ordered the hit to the decedent’s friends and business colleagues and (2) to the Chicago authorities, “FU, look what we can do in front of Cook Co. Jail and get away with.” Given the critters that are Chicago’s mayor and the Cook Co. State’s Attorney, looks to me like the perps will get away with it.
A shame. He was just turning his life around.
More seriously - the perps shot him outside the jail along with a guard and haven’t been caught yet.

I wonder if this person is considering another line of work. They seem to have been extremely ineffective at this one.
And then, there’s the getting shot part.
I saw a crazy video yesterday on Documenting reality of this black rapper talking on his phone sitting in his car when someone walked up to him and blasted him 12 times, and he was still alive talking, aware, even with a bullet hole in his face. He could barely breathe though . What the hell is it with rappers and shooting each other?
Ever notice when you watch that scene uncut after the shooting stops one of the gangsters walks over and kicks sonny in the head. When you watch it on network or cable the kick in the head is always edited out.....after all the graphic images of bullets and blood they edit out a kick in the head???.....never understood that.
