Dear Ellen,
Is it rude not to answer the door when you’re not expecting anyone? — Home Body
Dear Home Body,
...
As for strangers showing up at your door unannounced, you are absolutely under no obligation to answer. The only exception is if you live in a remote location and they need help. Even then, you might want to call a neighbour or 911 rather than fling open the door to potential thieves or post-apocalyptic zombies. Remember, it’s always better to risk being rude than risk being beaten, or eaten.

Clinically, from what I've read, HIPAA doesn't apply. Anyone can ask you your vaxx status. That's not a crime. In turn, you're under no obligation to answer them, and that also isn't criminal. It's trouble if your healthcare provider gives out your info without your consent in most circumstances.
I cringe a little when I read the HIPAA posts because they're often off.
Dave? Dave’s not here.
My parents were from a place, time and era here in the USA many decades ago, full of societal trust and uniformity. The answered the door if someone knocked, and answered the telephone if it rang. They were absolutely polite in dealing with any unexpected visitors or calls.
I’ve lived in societies with low trust, where they don’t answer the door for unexpected visitors, or merely hang-up on unwanted callers. At first I thought it was rude, but I’ve learned that such behavior is very logical under the circumstances
He was watering the flowers by the window sill
And then he saw them comin’ over yonder hill
Why, there must have been a million of every shape and size
And so I yelled to everyone, “You’d better get inside”
Close the door, they’re comin’ through the window
Close the door, they’re runnin’ up the stairs
Close the door, They’re hangin’ off the ceiling
Those (Bah-dah-bah-dah-bah-dah) are everywhere

“If they are uninvited and there unannounced, then they are trespassing.”
If they get to the door, that means:
they ignored the signs,
broke the gate.
ignored more signs and flashing lights,
shot all of the dogs,
ignored more signs,
and then touched a door that read “DON’T TOUCH ELECTRICAL HAZARD”.
Absolutely. In fact if you call the local authorities to have them removed, the local authorities are not going to be happy at all that King Biden is trying to presume authorities that even they themselves do not have. They will be glad to remove them for you and read them the law.
"I tell ya what I'm gonna give you, Snakes... I'm gonna give you to the count of 10, to get your ugly, yella, no-good keister off my property before I pump your guts full of lead!.....One....Two.....Ten!"
"Keep the change, ya filthy animal!"
Keep a knockin’, but you can’t come in
Keep a knockin’, but you can’t come in
Keep a knockin’, but you can’t come in
Come back tomorrow, you can try again
I don’t answer my door to anyone who isn’t expected/invited.
When my daughter lived in a rural area she always answered her door with weapon in hand if she didn’t know who it was. Everyone was very respectful.
One summer there was a team of daytime burglars operating in our little city. They would knock to see if anyone was home. If you answered they would apologize and ask directions to someplace and go away. If there was no answer, they would go to the back door and break in.
The police recommended knocking on the inside of the door and yelling “not interested, go away” or some such, just to let them know you were in there.
“What knockers!”
Invest in camera. I always look on Ring before I open door.
I’m also aware of those who did let the officer in, and were promptly taken to jail.
I do believe “exigent circumstances” must be demonstrated by the police for them to enter without a warrant.
A drunk driver who made it home safely wouldn’t apply.
Someone’s knockin’ at the door
Somebody’s ringin’ the bell

If you have to answer, “I was taking a crap” usually shuts them up. Or ‘something’ equally private. Be creative.
walking around naked helps.
I live in DC and decline to answer the door because it is inevitably someone to lecture me on how I don’t care about the environment, which is totally false. I do. The best thing that could be done for the environment is to nuke the place, all of it, from Space, just to be sure.
Not good enough!
Through the intercom, you order them (in your best barking "telescreen voice") to look directly into your camera, then in profile (left and right), then to visibly and audibly pat themselves down. They must then hold their I.D. up close to the camera (after you thus learn their names, you henceforth address them only as "6079 Smith!" etc.), then also open any valise they may be carrying with them, and show the contents.
And after all that, you tell them to go take a hike!
