DENVER (KDVR) — Single-use plastic bags and Styrofoam takeout containers will eventually be a thing of the past in Colorado after Gov. Jared Polis signed a bill to phase them out.

The Plastic Pollution Reduction Act goes into full effect in 2024. Polis signed the law on Tuesday after Colorado Democrats passed the bill without any Republican support.

The measure also repeals a pre-emptive law that bars local governments from passing stronger plastics restrictions than the state’s.

So the delivery driver shows up carrying the food, without wrap or sack, in his hand.

As soon as that happens, they will declare those reusables unsafe for handling by them, and refuse to put your food into them. That’s what happened with reusable grocery bags. I clean mine frequently with disinfectant and sunlight and rotate them so they are clean, but that didn’t keep the grocery stores from refusing to touch them.

They’re great for draining french fries.

I remember my mom draining the grease from her fried smelt. I loved those as a kid. Then they took my paper AND smelt!

I’m talking about plastic bags and Styrofoam containers. People will simply buy them from Amazon or Uline and bring with them when they order takeout. This will actually save the restaurants money, another unintended consequence from liberalism.

The time to get through checkout will increase exponentially as we wait for people to pack those damn bacteria-filled cloth bags. When I see those people, I add another five minutes to the wait.

California does NOT have this. The article is about restaurant takeout, not grocery stores.

Customers who can prove they participate in a state or federal food assistance program will be exempt from the bag fee.

What about my primary uses for them? 1.) Cleaning the cat litter box. 2.) Cleaning the ash from my Weber Kettle grill.

Shows how much beef prices have risen.

A potato costs 20 cents today compared to 1950 fries costing 10 cents. That’s double the price.

A quarter pound of ground beef costs 60 cents today compared to a 15 cent 1950 burger. That’s 4 times the price.

I read it, but don’t get what the replacement will be???

You'll have to bring your own Tupperware.

On disposable, clamshell containers?

I'm not talking about reusable bags or Tupperware.

I'm talking about disposable containers.
