In his tirade, Edward Cagney Mathews gave his address and challenged, “Come see me.” On Monday, about 100 people did.
Police in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey arrested a man who went on a six-minute racist tirade Friday against his neighbors, an interaction caught on camera that led to a community showdown on Monday.
“Learn your laws. This is not Africa or (inaudible) or wherever the f**k you were,” Edward Cagney Mathews says to his neighbor, who is Black. ....

“Well regulated.” In modern vernacular it means “well functioning.” If you are a mouth breathing moron who goes around shooting people because of an argument, that’s not well functioning and you’ll end up in prison.
I’m not referring to government regulation here, I’m referring to the duty that we have to the Constitution to know the law and to be well functioning.
Try to read.
yup
they use more than that as racial slurs
white boy
whitey
casper
The headline implies that the guy was arrested for calling the Black guy the N word. Of course, the actual Storyline doesn’t match.
If that were the case, the First Amendment is hollow. Is there a list of Outlawed words now?
Of course the Yahoos reading Yahoo News will lick it up like a Kitten licks up spilled Milk.
He’s free to say what he wants.
He found out he’s not free from the consequences of saying what he wants.
Wait a minute.......
Didn’t the Black guy call the neighbor A WHITE MONKEY?
Well, we don’t hate the adjective white as much as they hate the adjective black. Oh, OKAY.
The white man went to the front door of the black man’s home to yell at him and call him names.
That’s harassment. If he’d gone to your home and pulled the same stunt, you’d call the police, too.
“Massad Ayoub is in favor of requirements for concealed carry.”
I’m actually a a fan of Massad, but you have to be a special kind of really, really stupid to think gun permits are going to stop one criminal from carrying a gun.
If he had stated what he did in his second post then there woulda been no response from me. Clarity was called for.
It’s not to stop criminals. He wants every armed citizen to know what they’re doing so they don’t do something stupid. He supports the permitting process so as to at least get some good info in front of people.
His position on ccw regs has nothing to do with outright criminality.
LOL. Did you read the article? He was on someone else’s property and he wouldn’t leave. So, you are telling me if someone was one your property and you asked them to leave, and they were belligerent, yo think the police should tell that person it’s okay if they stay on your property doing that?
Show me where in the 1st Amendment it says you have the right to say whatever you want on someone else’s property? I can’t find it.
If people don't know, he went on video and gave out his address and challenged people to come to his house. As far as I'm concerned, the mob is on him, he asked for it.
“So, you are telling me if someone was one your property and you asked them to leave, and they were belligerent, yo think the police should tell that person it’s okay if they stay on your property doing that?”
1. Who was on whose property?
2. No. I said nothing of the kind.
I said no one should be arrested just for their words, unless their words are attempting to harass or intimidate someone.
I also said the matter mostly needed for the police to separate the two men.
As for “charges” again, no one needed to be arrested, but either person could go file criminal or civil charges they wanted try to make, if they wanted to.
Most of the time those situations just need the police to break up the confrontation. But anyone who feels they are or have been harassed can file formal charges by going in to the police or courts and doing so.
You mean, all the white guy did was say, “what’ll I do today? I know. I’ll go harass a black man.” We don’t know what the fight was about, or who started it. He might have been responding to harassment. It might have all been a misunderstanding. It might have been a spur of the moment altercation about who cut off whom in traffic, or parked their car in the wrong space, or let their dog leave a gifty on the lawn. All we have is Yahoo!’s context-less fragment of a story. I reserve judgment on the whole thing, although it appears that the fighting whitey might have been in the wrong. But a young man named Sandman is now considerably richer thanks to a similar rush to judgment by a media outlet and the ensuing tweet storm. Wait for the facts.
Me, I prefer to be called the H word. I have not yet earned the C word, since my sojourns in the South have not yet added up to enough actual time there. Don’t have the accent, have tried to emulate the manners.
I’ve mostly been in Israel for the past decade, except for about nine months in Georgia spent getting my grandkids home. Not sure that my years in Florida even count. Two years in Orlando, but three in Broward, one year studying in Miami. Give me Atlanta or Savannah any day.
The M word, what’s that, mayate?
Doesn’t anyone get called the “O” word anymore (Ofay)? Or did that go out of style in the 30s?
I prefer to interpret "well regulated" as meaning that all guns need to be cleaned and maintained properly and that the bearer's skills (marksmanship) are maximized so as to hit only what you shoot at...
Also, IMHO, having read all the way to the end of the former Constitution, "well regulated" can also mean tyrants must be in your sights in order to restore some semblance of the former Republic...
Peace...✌
But, Sandman didn’t do anything wrong. All he did was smile and try to be polite when a crazy man got in his face.
What this guy did was very different. This guy was the crazy man getting in someone’s face.
But, okay, let’s hear his story.
